Not totally sure of the numbers, but it's mostly lockbacks. Second place is slip-joints.

Hmmm.. I'd much rather jigged bone, a bit smaller, no clip, and a slip-joint. Still, I love the Kiwi design so I may have to get one.

As an aside, I'm surprised to hear that people feel that the chinese-made slipjoint Kiwi can't be opened one-handed?
I have a very nice stag handled one that opens ...

I looove my Persians, and they're the only Schempp's that I have so far. Had to get both sizes... although I definitely want to pick up some of the older micarta/bolstered ones -- a bit classier than my black G10.

Definitely going to have to fill out my Schempp collection.

Yessir, they are some pretty sounding knives. I think my favorite may be my brown sprint run Calypso, man that lockback is authoritative. Although the nishijin "R" is probably my loudest, and every bit as great.

Go with the Dragonfly, I don't think you'll be disappointed. I enjoy VG10 a good deal more than 8cr and only really see Spyderco's Chinese line as suitable for a first foray into the knife world -- which may be your case.

Can't really quantify it as I didn't count or anything, but CPM-M4 got me through a day very well.

To defend myself, when I say "work knife", I mean breaking down dozens of corrugated cardboard furniture boxes/tape/ties/rope in a day.

In my experience, it's very very easy to sharpen to a very nice, razor edge. But it does not hold that edge for an adequate enough amount of time to perform as a work knife.

Yep, we know all about cicadas down here in the Southeast. I always sort of look forward to them every year in the summer time, the symphony they make with the frogs and other birds is neat -- and annoying. This year has been exceptionally buggy.

I don't have any qualms with the Spyderhole. I haven't had a Dyad in hand yet, but based on the video with Eric it seems comfortable enough with the way they designed it, as well as very smooth to open.

Looks pretty good to me! I'll probably get one. I love the smurf blue handles.

A lot of people talk about rear pocket carry- if you do that then how do you sit down without damaging your knife, your pants, or whatever you are sitting on? I can't put anything in my back pockets except a wallet and it is a little soft and contoured now with no sharp edges.

I personally agree with the tip-up is safer camp. I've carried tip-up exclusively for a good while, but when I used to carry tip-down I remember finding my back pocket sliced open somehow. Not sure if it was extracting or replacing the knife in the pocket, but, nothing of the sort has happened to me ...

Yes, it's a tough call. It is a very interesting and attractive design, and the gray G-10 does seem to really work for it. This one is a tough call -- glad it won't be out for a while!

Maybe I just need JD Spydo to come in here and sell me on it.
