Do you mean washers rather than bearings? J/W because I hadn't heard it was going to have bearings, and that would be an interesting development! Yes, bronze washers, sorry for the confusion. I also dropped by a couple microbreweries in Denver today and clearly my brain isn't quite 100% :D Will you...

I'm a fan. Picked one up at the Spyderco Outlet today (along with a Nilakka I mentioned in a different thread). Perfect size for office carry and I find the grip to be very comfortable for basic cutting tasks. Looking forward to using it as an EDC when I'm back in the office in D.C. later this week.

Visited the Spyderco Outlet today (was in Denver on business) and picked up a Nilakka (thanks to Mike Kelly for insisting that I try it). One of the smoothest opening Spyderco models I have ever handled. Bronze bearings on both sides of the blade. The handle shape is a little odd, but definitely gro...

Very good site. I'm working with a nonprofit organization to develop free online college-level educational resources (http://www.Saylor.org), and we have been very impressed with the Khan website. I'm currently working on a series of history lectures for college students based on the Khan model.

Purelite, no one is "attacking" you or your manhood. Numerous posters have suggested ways to get your hands on Sprints. You can gripe and complain, and attract negative attention, or continue to participate in the forum and most likely find a friendly group of folks here. Your choice.

How's the saying go? Everyone hates lawyers until they need them.

Frankly, IMHO, lawyers are no different than any other class of professionals. Some good, some bad, some indifferent. If you want to blame something, blame the adversarial nature of the American (actually English) legal system.

Anyone ever visit the SMKW showroom? I will be in the Smokies next week and thought it might be worth a visit to the showroom. If you went, was it a worthwhile visit? How long should I expect to spend? Thanks I was there about a year ago and spent a little over an hour in the showroom. The size of ...

Washington DC for 4-6 days--- DC has good transit options and driving into the city can be tough, especially during weekday rush hours, so your best best is parking or camping near a Metro station in MD or VA and using Metro to get downtown to the National Mall. Metro's website has a great trip pla...

I've always wanted to go to one of those to meet Kristi. Not a stalking kind of thing, but just to show my respect and maybe buy her a soda. :) Kristi is cool! Super Jealous-Yojimbo 2 Content

My wife is a civilian who currently works in law enforcement and she is attending a big LEO and defense trade show this week in Virginia. She saw the Spyderco booth today and got a chance to meet Michael Janich. She chatted with him about all things Spyderco and he actually gave her a chance to hand...

I'd also imagine there's also a bit of carryover from situations where speculators, market manipulators, and "in it just for a buck" types can and do cause actual harm. That is a very good point. I'm a historian by trade so I guess I find this topic interesting because I see lots of paral...

As for the other, most hobbies and businesses attract two kinds of people, those who love and enjoy what they're doing and those who are in it strictly for a buck. Rightly or wrongly, the former tend to hold the later in contempt to some degree. So it is here with speculators. Deacon, I do find the...

Unnecessary political comment. That's a pretty inflammatory statement. We are talking about long-term economic matters that go back a lot farther than 2009. Can we please keep personal politics out of this. :o Pmbspyder asked a valid and perfectly legitimate question and I think he has received a l...

Are you looking at MSRP or discounted street prices? +1 I don't buy at MSRP. pmbspyder, how much of an explanation do you want? Compare the prices of Spyderco models over the past 10 years. Prices have gradually increased for the reasons you mentioned (materials and labor) and for reasons you didn'...
