Nilakka

Does anyone know why the Nilakka isn't in any catalogs or mid-year supplements? I don't even see it in the New Product Announcements section. Am i missing something?

Thanks,
JD

Some Spydies have a way of sneaking up on us. As far as sneakers go, I'm glad this is going to be available this month!

What do folks think of this knife? I'm still trying to figure out if I want one or not.

Is it out of the proto phase? I haven't heard any updates since Amsterdam's pics but that doesn't say much.

Howes is showing it for sale Image - without stock at this time.
Our reason is quite satisfied, in 999 cases out of every 1000 of us, if we can find a few arguments that will do to recite in case our credulity is criticized by someone else. Our faith is faith in someone else's faith, and in the greatest matters this is most the case.

Nice! I emailed them Sunday morning and got this;

We will be getting 10 units as soon as Spyderco starts shipping them
internationally. We don't have an ETA, but I'm hoping to have them here
before the end of the month.

Did you buy one?

My local supplier told me that they should be shipping this week. I hope he is right.

Visited the Spyderco Outlet today (was in Denver on business) and picked up a Nilakka (thanks to Mike Kelly for insisting that I try it). One of the smoothest opening Spyderco models I have ever handled. Bronze bearings on both sides of the blade. The handle shape is a little odd, but definitely grows on you and provides a very solid grip. With the flat-grind blade, it will be a real slicer.

Do you mean washers rather than bearings? J/W because I hadn't heard it was going to have bearings, and that would be an interesting development!

Will you elaborate on the handle shape a little, thats one of the things I was wondering about.

Yes, bronze washers, sorry. I also dropped by a few microbreweries in Denver today and clearly my brain isn't quite up to speed :D
