Re: Favorite EDC steel

I carry a P4 in K390 most of the time, but I have to say for edge retention and stainlessness, S110V rocks. Surprised nobody mentioned it here yet.

Nice family photo :)

There's an M2 in XHP? When did this happen?
Dropped April 3, 2025.
Thanks, bummer for us in EUrop, especially here it has become prohibitively expensive and most of the time not even possible to get anything from outside EUrop into the country.

Re: Cold Steel Talk

I have a couple of SRKs in 3V and a Recon Tanto in SK5. The R/T is surprisingly sharp and is good for everything. Handles very well despite the good blade length.

Wish the handles on the SRK and R/T would have been a bit longer though.

Dear participants, can you tell me when the sale of spyderco military salt will begin? It is on a magnacut with a yellow handle
Is your question specifically on the version with the bumblebee handle? As @Jeb said, the all black version has been out, I got one a while back.

Re: K390 ran softer in Golden PM2 & Para3 ???

Does it really matter? I'm sure whatever got sold met Sal's requirements both as to HRC and quality of heat treat.

I think @ekastanis is probably right about the P4 being one of the first but I can't remember that far back for sure.

Re: Decline of serrations

The SE Police 4 in K390 is great, i have that one too, sadly they seem to have been discontinued.
For work i switched from the SE Endura's to SE Stretch 2 XL's by now, feels better with gloves and is sometimes even aviable at a reasonable price.

EU pricing is generally on the spicy end of the ...

Re: Destroyed Pants

I wear suits a lot of time for work but my Spyderco knives tend to destroy my pocket. I carry tip up front right pocket. I also tend to carry 3” (Para 3, Native 5, Sage 5, etc.) knife while in a suit. I never have the issues in kakis or jeans.

Does anyone have the same issue? Has anyone found a ...

If they don't go over your ears, I think that might solve the problem with standard headphones causing hearing loss.
Sure, that problem is kinda solved. But osteoporosis is a dangerous side effect, bone loss is a thing :winking-tongue

Hi All,

There seems to be a lot of thought and opinions on China, with regards to knives, especially since the latest reveal.

Some say we are no longer a leader in the industry because of the latest model offerings. (Manta 4, Buttonup, Shelter Cove, Goonie). Some say to ditch China altogether ...

That's the lanyard hole. Alternatively, it's where the chips are supposed to fall out when @yablanowitz whittles with it ;)

I've struggled to get along with slings, but I really want to like them.
Had a few over the years, but always return to using a backpack instead.
And now I'm back to looking at them again.

I try to do as much as possible of my commutes by foot, so a good system to carry what I need for the day ...

Cutting coconuts is fairly simple when you know how to do it. Doesn't require a lot of force. I don't remember the technique, but I've seen it done.

Thanks, that one doesn't look like what I wanted.

I have some smaller Maxpedition bags and the organization is pretty good. I also like that a lot of the pockets have velcro to seal them. I don't get the same feeling of quality with the Maxpedition bags I have as I do with the Moab 10, but one of ...

Re: When Is the new coating coming out?

I don't even like DLC, to me it feels like it drags on whatever I cut.

I wish companies would quit using that and just polish the blades. Lettuce keep things oiled, it worked since the dawn of man.

The best coating for me is oil.

Re: Keeping rodents away?

I think cats are the only ecological option. Maybe some breeds of dogs (terriers) would also help, especially with the bigger stuff.

I had two hounds outside and prairie dogs (feels like I spelled that wrong) used to steal the food out of their bowls whenever they went to sleep. I shot a bunch out ...
