All about the Cobol - Two reviews !

Two reviews of the Cobol made in France:

SPYDERCO COBOL — THE MODERN IKUCHI, OR JUST AN EXERCISE IN STYLE?
By Guillaume Gx.
And

SPYDERCO COBOL – C273TIP – LOVING THE ALIEN ?
By Nemo.

As you can notice, both reviews ask questions in their title and, we hope, they also give some answers.

Since one of them said you can't whittle with it, I've been whittling with mine.

The Nemo review was highly informational.

Interesting knife to look at. Which seems to be the (only) point of this collaboration.

As a functional knife it sounds awful. Thick geometry. Difficult to open. Difficult to close. No lock. $250. Hard pass on this from me. I have some knives that lean more towards form than function (including a Lucas Burnley Kwaiken collab) but not like this. I would want it to at least be fun to fidget with, but this sounds like a miserable fidget toy.

That's the lanyard hole. Alternatively, it's where the chips are supposed to fall out when @yablanowitz whittles with it ;)

Sure, but I have the feeling you could whittle with a rusty spoon.
If I tried to make a ball in cage with the Cobol, I don't think it would end up so well...

I'd probably scrape the rust off first so it didn't stain the wood.

That's actually an interesting challenge. I'll have to look into it.

You know what? I'm not even sure you're joking... and I kind of hope you're not ;)
