Yes you're right that twice the price would be a bit too much. It's always an issue trying to pick the maximum one's willing to pay for an auction item. I must admit I was quite impressed by the intricate detail in Gary Blanchards work and also ...

Were you the bidder from France? or just watching?....I was quite ready for a much higher bidding match. I kind of feel bad for the seller who I'm sure expected to get more for it. Anyway that's the way ebay goes sometimes. Cheers.

Yes, I've asked a few sellers to do this for me also. The funny thing is the one's that I had tightened crossed the boarder without being opened. Oh well it's a good thing to try to do though...

I recently had a new black Yojimbo that I purchased on Ebay from the USA seized by Canada Customs. They said that it opened via centrifical force (by flicking it open...) and thus was prohibited. I managed to get an exemption & just received the knife today. I had to send them a letter from my boss ...
