Very sorry to hear about your customs seizure. Unfortunately, as other forum members have pointed out, your only recourse under appeal is to prove to customs that you require the knife to do your job. I was able to recover mine as I'm in the military & had my boss write up a letter stating ...

Jaislandboy I know exactly what you mean. :D I'm trying to focus on discontinued Spydies as the opportunities present themselves but as you mentioned there are too many current & new folders that I'd like to have as well... ;)

Twice the price would have been a bit excessive

Yes you're right that twice the price would be a bit too much. It's always an issue trying to pick the maximum one's willing to pay for an auction item. I must admit I was quite impressed by the intricate detail in Gary Blanchards work and also ...

Were you the bidder from France? or just watching?....I was quite ready for a much higher bidding match. I kind of feel bad for the seller who I'm sure expected to get more for it. Anyway that's the way ebay goes sometimes. Cheers.

Yojimbo Question...

I just recently purchased the blue Yojimbo pictured below and was wondering about the number '110' marked on the blade. Is this knife from the first production batch? Cheers.

Yes, I've asked a few sellers to do this for me also. The funny thing is the one's that I had tightened crossed the boarder without being opened. Oh well it's a good thing to try to do though...

Yojimbo seized by Canada Customs (good ending to story though...)

I recently had a new black Yojimbo that I purchased on Ebay from the USA seized by Canada Customs. They said that it opened via centrifical force (by flicking it open...) and thus was prohibited. I managed to get an exemption & just received the knife today. I had to send them a letter from my boss ...
