I have seen this one, and found it allready steep.
I wonder what happens in the last hour.

Certain stands as mute testament to the benfits of auction sniping. :D

It's very possible the winning bidder will never pay up though. Not saying the high bidder at the moment is suspect, but it seems like when a price goes very high, the higher chance that bid will not be backed up.

That thing was sitting at $200 three days ago. Sniping would have saved one of them a lot of money.

Personally, I usually stake my claim early, and come back later to snipe if I'm outbid. Works for me.

And the high bidder just got sniped with 4 seconds left

Too nerve-wracking for me!

What's even funnier is that the guy who sniped them, has done a similar thing on several of the more "entertaining" auctions I've watched. He's a pro. A pro with ridiculous amounts of money.

$256 for a Lum Tanto? Thats a little high I think, even if it is numbered.

Some people try and sell numbered ones like they are worth more. I personally do not like numbered knives unless I were in the club. Otherwise that number just is pretty much like someone else's name on your knife. Now, a collection of all the same number, that would be cool to have. At least that's how I see it.

:spyder: People sure love those Lum tantos  I'd rather sharpen a dodo than one of those pesky tanto tips :o :spyder:

Well I'd be annoyed if he was bidding against me, but very pleased if I was the seller...I use auctionraptor & find it works well for me....

I am glad I already have the Lums I really want but I know I lost sight of the actual money involved on a Ti Lum not too long ago because I really did want that model then and I just couldn't wait for a next time.
I have already forgotten about the money but I still have the knife.

Man! That seller has some nice stuff.
First they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not stand up, because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Here is yet another interesting bidding war...I'm always hyper suspicious of people with very low ebay transactions pushing up the price and then suddenly evaporating, but I'm paranoid.

Super Spyderhawk????

Speaking of "bid wars" on Ebay. A Spyderhawk tonight ebay item# 6559495212 just went for $215. This is a knife that could be bought as recent as last Spring for $65 to $80 and even lower in some cases. Are the Hawkbills making their move in the market place or is this just a total coincidence?

Funny, I started this thread laughing about a bidding war, but I just got myself into one :( Theres something I've been wanting for a while up on auction right now, and the guy who's bidding against me, seems to have the same taste I do, and has a lot more money than I do.

Those of you watch the auction sites can probably figure out what I'm looking at, and the odds of me winning are pretty slim.

Oh well, its not the end of the world ;)
