Just curious, but what can't you do with the knife that you would be able to do if the cutting edge was an inch longer? I use the part of the blade closest to the handle sometimes but for the most part it doesn't get used nearly as much as the middle and tip. On all my knives the sharpest part of th...

It is a good store but there are others that are just as worthy of the praise. I have had a few problems but will still buy from them if they have what I am looking for. I ordered close to a grand worth of kitchen knives and almost a year later I was finally told he wouldn't be able to get them for ...

Doesn't your thumb fall on the thumb ramp? It seems like in order to have your thumb on the compression lock cutout, you'd either need really tiny hands, or a very cramped saber grip. I like to stretch my thumb out in saber grip (in fact, I often place it flat along the spine of the blade rather th...

I have one of the first ones that may be a few points harder than the current production. And in use I think it actually holds a razor Sharp edge quite a bit longer than S90V/ 20CP. The later will keep cutting cleanly for a long time, it just doesn't keep a hair popping edge all that long. Where the...

I had the fever but it is slowing down right now. Now I just feel the need for a few Sprint runs. I'm sure there will be more but I don't feel the need to buy everything and it has to have a lot of features I like. I started out just buying everything because I didn't know how it would feel in hand....

I understood what you were saying and the picture verifies it. I will have to pull mine out but it seems like I remember reading that frame locks many times are designed like yours. I think it was the Sebenza that is an example of that but I don't have one of those to know for sure. I know on many f...

I really doubt a hair dryer gets hot enough and would use the soldering iron to break down the loc tite, if you have one. There are also tools, sometimes called an easy out, that you drill a small hole in the striped head and then put the easy out in the hole. They are reverse threaded and as you ba...

While a Ti integral would be cool, I'm not a big fan of full metal handles because of the weight and often, the high price. The compression lock is plenty strong in any form, so S90V and carbon fiber with SS liners similar to the Para 2 sprint would be fine with me. Lighter weight and cheaper doesn'...

I think the lock was just so stiff that it was doing a number on my thumb. Im sure if I worked at it everything would be fine. My fingers have lots of calluses too lol. That doesn't sound like the half dozen Para 2 that I have handled. None were any more stiff than the average backlock. I have seen...

I'm glad you like it but I haven't been impressed. It will get really sharp but then gets really dull with little use, and no I don't have a wire edge. I'm talking butter knife, run your finger down the edge unscathed, dull. It also gets scratched really easy and mine looks like coarse sandpaper has...

id think it would be better to fill the hole before grinding and reshaping the handle. lay it on some brass or copper flat stock and of course cover the rest of the knife with a wet rag or something to protect the blade from spatter. both ways could work though i think its somewhat more difficult t...

I would probably not try to fill the hole but recontour the handle and then come in from the side to fill the 'divot'. Then grind all 3 sides smooth and repeat if there is a void. I would also put the blade in some water or wrap it in a wet rag at the minimum. You might see a difference in color whe...

Most cities have a fastener store. Take the screw in and see if they can match it. It probably won't be black but if it works that shouldn't mater. If it is too long it can be cut, just pick up a nut and put on before you cut it so when you take the nut off it will clean up the threads. Just go slow...

I use my knives to cut stuff and not as a fashionably accessory. I'm not real fond of the bright colors and though I would buy them, and have, I'm fine with black. I have a yellow salt that is covered in scratches and is really dirty and it doesn't clean up. I don't care nut if it was black it would...

I would take the PM2 just because I don't like the edge holding of plain edge H1. The serrated H1 knives are supposed to be better holding an edge but I haven't tried it out yet.

ZDP is a harder steel than most, more brittle. Same story with CTS-20CP, S90V, etc. That coupled with the fact that you're talking about a small knife, with a fairly thin blade, it might not be the best steel for that sized knife if it's going to get banged up, especially the delicate tips. A good ...

Was the knife smooth at one point and got rough over time? I've had a knife where it looked like the ball shattered and a piece broke off which it got rough when it had been smooth. I have another knife where the ball is worn very flat and the blade opens too easily now. Yet another reason I don't l...
