There's a specific reason that nearly all restaurants use those ubiquitous white LDPE boards of a certain size.
They fit in the industrial dishwasher, and those things absolutely nuke all contaminants.
If you hand-wash your dishes at home, the choice is a lot murkier.

Re: It isn't only divers that need corrosion resistance
A common occurrence in group camping:
"Where are the dishes?"
"They've been sitting in the creek since lunch."
Pretty sure 99% of the patina on my k390 is from rusting and scrubbing over and over in this scenario.
I'm not going to worry about it, but I'd worry even less with something more ...

Re: Spyderco Endura 4
FRN is better than steel and better than G10 for knives. It is stronger than G10 in some ways and it is lighter. It isn't easily damaged like steel and tends to give rather than break. I can't imagine what a person could be doing with a knife that an Endura cannot handle. I can testify to its ...

Just dish scrubber and wet sheath abuse.

Re: enuff 2!!!
The k390 serrated enuff 2 is exactly the outdoor knife design I've always wanted. Pretty sure I'd change nothing on it.
Nobody remembers to sharpen a knife before last-second pack loading, so it's nice to have something that never stops cutting.
And heavier knives are for people who drive to their ...

Re: 2024 Official Discontinued List
Atlantic Salt lightweight was -- in my opinion -- the most drop-damage-resistant pocketknife in existence.
Hopefully just the steel flavor is changing.

Re: I'm Going All In: Spyder Edge and K390
I use spyder edge cooking. So your tomatoes are ragged and your cheese has furrows. So what. I'm not going to pack two knives, and the serrated is nice to have.

Re: Wharnie Endura K390. Where is the love?
I use the dragonfly version of this as a wire stripper sometimes.
Place any gauge of wire or coax against the grip, in the rear third.
Gently close blade. Closing spring force will hold blade against wire.
Gently spin knife around wire twice.
It requires a flat blade and a specific handle shape, so ...

Re: Best Spyderco for Backpacking
Surprising that nobody seems to have suggested the 4.5 poly utility knife. I wish spyderco offered a sheath for it.
I always come back to lightweight and cheap-enough-to-lose when backpacking, because both qualities have value.
A full-size folding bow saw is also nice to have. I can't imagine using ...
