Re: Show your Mule
Spine work done. Modified CPM SPY27 mule 2
Mentioned this as work done on the spine here in the pic, please explain why you did this? I don't get it.
Really it’s just a vine like pattern. It is also a different way to add jimping which I wanted because I added a finger choil to choke up on ...

Haha, nice one Jeb.
Yeah, I should post it in the "What's your dream knife" thread: a Military 2 that is tough enough to chop down trees but also sharp enough to give me a clean shave :grin-smiling-eyes
So 3V Military knife. Razor sharp after sharpening and tough enough to chop down a tree.

Re: Anyone tested VG XEUS mule yet
Nice report burlyspyder . One question did you find the VG XEOS extremely easy to sharpen? Your report basically supports what I found when using AEB-L and VG XEOS when it comes to toughness and edge retention. But I did find VG XEOS easier to sharpen for me and I’m curious if it’s the same for you ...

Re: Spyderco Photo of the Week - Book
Well, I just submitted my handful of images. I thought I had posted more of them in the POTW thread, but many were just in the general forum, and MANY others over on BladeForums. Oh well, some of my best work were posted elsewhere, too bad.
Hope the project comes to fruition and many more images ...

Re: What to use to protect tool steel blades
I use to use WD-40 on my tools when they got wet while building cellular towers. It was great for removing rust on tool steel but I could never stand the smell. I’ve been experimenting with Frog Lube Oil and Frog Lube Paste and the oil seems to be doing a better job so far. Plus they both smell ...

Re: Discontinued for 2026
I’m pretty sure my daughter is getting me the Bradley 2 for Christmas. Well either that or the Dodo. Can’t go wrong with either of them. So I’m good. Either way I get to add another CPM M4 knife to my collection.

Re: Forum Knife???
We've been working on the 50th anniversary model for quite a while. Trying to make a forum knife at the same time would be more stressful than we'd like.
Our last forum knife wasn't received well. We can discuss this again after the Anniversary knife is done.

Only Spyderco knives since I bought my first one about 5 years ago. First one was a PM2. Sometimes someone will gift me another brand but buying wise it’s just Spyderco.

Re: China
Bottom line for me is if it helps Spyderco survive and thrive then go for it. But please upgrade steel options. Especially to compete with other knives coming out of China.

Re: China
I’d say Spyderco is still the industry leader in all its locations but one. The one that seems to be lagging behind is China. I’ve spent a lot of time looking at other knives from other companies producing knives out of China since sal started this thread. And quite a few have better knife steel ...

Late announcement ! The famous Pink Flamingo tribute to Number One has been stored for the Winter . It was a solemn day with wailing , pulling of hair and gnashing teeth ! I left a sock hanging from a tree limb for those who needed comfort . Number 2
I think we should all hang a solo sock from ...
