What impresses me the most about this knife is the incredible ergonomics of the handle.

I agree. The Spydie Bushcraft is the fourth natural-material-handled bushcraft knife I've owned (excluding plastic-handled Moras) and I really marvel at how Spyderco was able to translate the fantastic ergos ...

Hahaha! No, that wasn't on purpose... My desk is full of clutter so I spread a newsletter on my bed. :p

Spyderco Bushcraft vs. A. Wright & Sons Knife

I received my Spyderco Bushcraft yesterday. There are only two small cracks visible, one on each side of the handle.

For comparison, I've photographed it next to my A. Wright & Sons of Sheffield knife, which I also just received last month and have not yet had a chance to put through its paces. The ...

Sal said they use acetone to remove the linseed oil.

I can confirm acetone works perfectly. I received my Bushcraft knife yesterday. It didn't have too much residue on it but it was kind of an eyesore. I dipped a cotton swab in nail polish remover, scrubbed away at the residue, then used the dry ...

I live in the Denver metro and have been to the SFO several times. The pricing is usually higher than the deals one can get from the better rated eBay sellers or the well-known e-tailers like NGK. I assume this is because Spyderco doesn't want to undercut its dealers.

Personally, I don't mind ...

Calypso Jr is a wonderful knife but a step up:
I like the Sage as a step up in size and toughness from the Calypso jr.
Sage suits me better than the CalyIII, but the Caly III is a fine knife as well.
I like the Sage's wider blade and handle, yet it's not really big.

I can't get over it ...

Just got my Sage today. I'm hardly the first one to say this but (ta da!) this may be THE perfect Spyderco for me (and I didn't think it got better than the Caly III).

The Sage has the deep choil and broad/wide handle of the Native, the hump of the Caly/UKPK, awesome textured CF scales, the Caly ...

Anyone have photos of this knife in hand?

Just got my Urban today from Knifeworks - four days from order to delivery!!

I usually wear a size "L" or "XL" glove. The grip feels very good on the Urban (of course, I feel like I can get a good grip on my Meerkat, too...)

Gull Wing, would you mind posting a "top view" pic of your Ti Salsa? I'm curious about how the Ti S' lock differs from the compression locks on my plain aluminum Salsas...

Thanks in advance!

cjgrad23, I posted this thread on BladeForums about my recent first trip to the Spydie Outlet. Others who contributed to the thread provided lots of great insights -- you'll find detailed directions and such in that thread, too.

As far as I can tell from the pix and specs, the Navigator is somewhere between the Meerkat and Salsa in size -- is that correct?

You could also just buy from a dealer with a quick and easy returns policy, like Lighthound.com, in case you end up disliking a certain knife.

I'm lucky -- I live in Denver and can go handle new models at the Spyderco Outlet Store. :D

the only negative reprofiling (removing large amounts of metal) is almost impossible.

Yes, you need the diamond sticks for that.

I was always a poor freehand sharpener. I got some success with a Lansky jib set but that was a pain to use so I would end up letting my knives get too dull so it ...
