Spyder, here's a pic of my camo military that my wife bought me as a gift. I think the colors are on the light side. However, it was the only one for sale when she bought it.

Tactical to me means Hollywood. Most everything tactical is black and durable. I know some experts think the minimal blade length to kill someone is 3.5 inches. I attached a pic of a lip stick knife next to my Police for scale. I saw a video on sharp-edged weapons awhile back. A police officer was ...

I hate to mention another brand, but Benchmade makes a little blue plastic box the size of a cigarette lighter that holds a little driver and some torx fittings.

Tenacious, look up the Harvard student in Boston who stabbed a street thug to death with a Military a couple years back. Too bad the thug isn't here to tell you that the Military isn't a martial blade.

I gave my wife a neck knife to wear if all else fails. It is made by another company. I liked the quallity and simplicity of it. And the blade is 1/8 of an inch in my state of being illegal. My wife left it in her purse one day while going thru the airport. She forgot she had it. Those suckers ...

Qboy,
I'm no expert in MBC designs, but I would say that you are definantely ahead of the game if you can open your knife with one hand. A video was made for corrections and police training called "Sharp-Edged Weapons." In the video, a police officer relates how some hooker sliced him so severely ...

I have voiced my opinion on this over on Bladeforums, I might as well do so here as well. First of all, I do not carry knives for self defense. I carry knives for their tool value. If I had to, I could use one or more of them for self defense.

If that ever happened, I would prefer to be able to ...

I would recommend a stainless handle Police combo blade for the handy man. For a big knife, this thing rides incrediblely well in any pant pocket--fatigue, jean, etc. The combo blade can cut any time of material; and the blade is long enough for any cutting job or reaching to prod something. Finally ...

I'm curious how you shapen your serrated blades, because they advise only the fine or ultra fine rods for them.
I purchased diamond rods about 2 years ago and have yet to use them. My understanding is that they are made for something that has been beat. If you keep you knives sharp, you will never ...

Thanks for the post. I'm sorry to see this outcome. Kinds of reminds me of the old tv commercial for giving the other guy the right of way, even if you are in the right: "You could be right, dead right."

Go back and watch the dvd again. You got to "crack" those new stones first by rubbing them together. Without doing this, it will take a while to make them abrasive.

I would vote for the Police with a combo blade and stainless handle. This sucker rides nice and secure in jeans or fatigues; handle won't absorb paint or chemicals; nice long shank to take care of any kind of business you can get into; and the VG-10 blade sharpens like a banshee.

I followed this case closely during the first trial on Court TV. Basically, a car load of thugs rolled up on the accused while he was walking home. There were two males and one woman. The males both had criminal records--hence the reason for the second trial, they didn't tell the jury this ...

Go on line and do a search of Cove Cutlery. This guy is practically over the border from CT in RI. If he got what you want in stock, you might want to take a ride and go see him. He's got the works, including auto knifes that he'll sell you in the shop, but not thru the mail.
