Oh, by the way, you've bought yourself a full-sized Manix, also. You just don't know it yet! :p :D

Do you wanna know how I know this?

I would vote for the Police with a combo blade and stainless handle. This sucker rides nice and secure in jeans or fatigues; handle won't absorb paint or chemicals; nice long shank to take care of any kind of business you can get into; and the VG-10 blade sharpens like a banshee.

only by an 1/8"... ;)

I'd still stand by the millie. I had a combo edge 440v that *I* beat on, then it went to Zambia with clovisc for him to work over. When I know what I did with it and it was still going strong, I can't imagine what it would take to kill one.

I picked up a s30v combo edge to work over, haven't even really broken it in yet.

Another standby for hard work is the lil temp if you can find one still. 3" of tank.

I'd suggest a Delica or Endura ... Not so expensive that you might mind using them as they are intended to be used .. And then giving it the sharpening it deserves .. :spyder: Over and over ....

Well, I bought the Mini and received the Big Manix --as a gift, no less-- the very same day the Mini arrived. So, yeah, I've been there and done that! :D ...and thank You, Lord!

Endura. I have been carrying the same one for almost 15 years now. Great knife.

And oh yeah ..., if you buy it lightly used at a bargain price, it's even better. :D One of my favorites in this category is a SE FRN Clip Delica that I've had in my desk drawer for a very very long time.

a fixed blade would be best... the manix would be most people's natural first choice in a folder... but if you're going to be using the knife outdoors, there's a lot of value in the fact that the military has an open back. the manix has a proclivity to become a dirt scoop during outdoor use...

you might have some qualms about the linerlock, but if you use the mili a bit, you'll find that your hand is definitely going to fail before that lock does!
