Yeah; it's B.S.

I waited all week for the Saturday sale, thinking I could score a Sage 2 for $112
($149.99 - 25%)

Then they jacked the 'regular' price to $172 at the last minute -- making the 'sale' price $129.

Still a 'decent' deal but NOT what I was expecting.

This isn't *fraudulent*, because ...

Have the P'Kal Dimensions Changed?

Hi all --

Wondering if anyone knows if the blade length of the P'Kal has been changed.

I did not buy one when it was released because (as I remember) the blade length was over 3 inches.

Blades over three inches are illegal in my state, so I don't buy knives with blades bigger than that. Don't ...

Question about SpyderPac folding

Hi all -- thinking of getting a SpyderPac for better storage of the collection.

It says in the description for the SpyderPac that the knives cannot rub together when the SpyderPac is rolled or folded.

But, looking at some photos is appears that the knife clips could rub together when the bottom ...

Belated BIG THANK YOU to Charlynn in Spyderco Customer Service!

Hey all ... first let me say, Spyderco's service is much better than mine!

This "thank you" is a couple months late, but better late than never!

Back in January, I contacted CS about my black Yojimbo.

The stop pin had a screw broken off on one side, making the knife unsafe, with a lot of side-to ...

Ah, yes. A G-10 SE Cricket ...

... the mythical "Crickvilian." :D

Would love to see this produced, especially with an oversized (four finger) handle, and a compression or winged ball lock.

Try adjusting the frame screw nearest the pivot. This will be smaller than the pivot screw; a T6 instead of a T9.

If this has loosened up over time, it can cause a little side-to-side play in the blade regardless of the pivot adjustment. The knife needs the rigidity provided by this front-most ...

Don't laugh. This has always worked very well for me with pinned knives.

1. Close the knife.

2. Place in a ziploc bag.

3. Fill the bag about half full with rubbing alcohol.

4. Close the bag and zip it shut. Be sure to leave some air in the bag.

5. Turn the bag sideways and hold each side in one ...

Where to get replacement stop pin screw for Yojimbo?

Hey all,

Have a black-handled Yojimbo I've owned for a short time, probably six months or less.

Have carried daily but haven't used much, respecting the knife's tip and edge and only using for appropriate tasks.

Usually also carry a burgundy Caly Jr. for more general use.

The Yoji has, however ...

Never understood why anyone would want to watch anyone play sports, period.

Here's my executive summary of the typical football game:
"He threw the ball! He caught the ball! He's running with the ball! He made a touchdown with the ball!"

Yeah, whatever.

Why do people want to watch a bunch of ...

Anyone know where the "other" Yojimbo thread went, where we were discussing possible sources of black-handled models?

Did it get "disappeared" by an admin?

I don't think there was any active selling going on; just collectors trying to help each other find a grail knife.

FYI, the guy offering it for $189 bought it last week on the bay for $105.

I know because I was watching the auction and saw him win it.

Earlier that day, one was offered BIN for $89.95 ... the one I missed out on only because I hesitated.

IMHO, the $89.95 was a seller unfamiliar with the market ...

I own a Ritter MiniGrip, which is much closer in size to the Caly3, for comparison.

I only buy sub-3" bladed folders for legal reasons. I want the option of carrying anything I own.

The Ritter is an excellent knife and I would not hesitate to rely on it for outdoors / survival / BOB type of duties ...

The burgundy ones were a sprint run (as you probably know), but occasionally pop up (like at auction).

Better bet would be to get one of the upcoming run of black-handled ones ... I think those will be available soon, and at a better price than finding an original (kind of like getting a British ...

No one's ever objected to my ZDP Caly Jr. at the office.

Reasonable blade length, NKP-friendly color, and non-agressive leaf shaped blade.

And it sure "lasers open" envelopes in a hurry.

Just missed out on an $89 NIB Black Yojimbo!!!

I recently found and bought a NIB black Yojimbo for $120.

Bought it; love it; carry it every day.

I like it so much I've been considering buying another just to put away.

Then today, I found one for $90!!! So I was very tempted to buy it.

But it was identical to the one I just got, and would ...

How About "Top 5" ???

I decided to limit my list to knives meeting certain criteria:

1. Must be a folder, as fixed-blade carry is illegal in many places.
2. Must have a blade length 3 inches or less (again for legal reasons).
3. Must be reasonably available (not a hard to find grail knife).
4. Must have G-10 (preferable ...
