This knife looks great! I've been out of the purchasing world for a long time, and I'm unfamiliar with this dealer exclusivity... usually sprint runs were available from spyderco. Is bento box the only place selling this or will these be made available from other sources? I usually prefer getting ...

Good day for knives =)
After a long hiatus with no fun purchases of any kind (the economy of course), I pulled the trigger on 4 Spyders. The prices were just too good. So after a little big of creative accounting and juggling I placed an order for 3 G-10 Caly 3 (SE) and 1 Tenacious (PE).
I'd like to post the prices and ...

It has nothing to do with being a wonder child. I fixed computers before I even had my own home computer. Id also fix electronics. I would go to the Library and use the public computers, I would then print out flyer's and have my mom make copies at work. I would post them around the neighborhood ...

Clip on the Full Sized Caly?
I bought a full sized caly off ebay, intending it to be a user. However, it came without a clip, and this makes carrying it a little awkward sometimes. Does anyone know of another spydie that uses the same clip as the full sized caly (I want to keep it looking like it did originally)? Would it be ...

At the moment, Surefire isn't your best choice for a high end flashlight. There is a new line of LEDs (Crees and Seouls) that will give you more light than an incandesent with much longer battery life, and a lifetime bulb. Surefires run hot, drain batteries fast (relatively expensive CR123s), and ...

The thing I would worry about, if I were carrying that many knives, is a possible civil suit, from the "victim" if I ever had to use one. It sounds ridiculous, but if the plaintiff can successfully argue that you carried the knives with the intention of using them for defense (i.e. inflicting harm ...

Recommend a strop?
I want to take sharpness to the next level, and I figure a good way to do this is with a strop. The only problem is I have little (no) knowledge of strops.
What compound? What grit (is there grit)? Cardboard vs. leather? Stropping technique?
Help and suggestions welcome!

Excellent review! Very thorough and informative.
I liked your comments about the swedge, I find them very useful. Aside from looking great, with some care, they can be used for opening mail. I hate dulling my just-sharpened-blade on envelopes, plus with a really sharp blade, I never get a straight ...
