Yep, I've been seeing that also.

It seems it's that way with almost all listing on eBay now, is it not?

I stopped buying off eBay when they went to their policy of requiring PayPal for most everything. I had a PayPal account once and once was enough.

I purchased several knives and other items off ...

Samo,

Thanks for sharing the pictures; rather like a mini-vacation for me this afternoon.

How wonderful that you and Mrs. Samo give of your talents to help those around you.

Take care,

Manix........,

Never been in a rain forest, so I can't help you there.

But........

I have spent thousands of hours hiking, fishing, and camping in the swamps and pine forests in central Florida. In a summer afternoon downpour, perhaps there is not much difference. My equipment and I have been ...

vampyrewolf,

Well my friend, it sounds like you've got the reading thing pretty well covered. After I finished the above post, I was thinking (dangerous sport for me) that I'll bet he reads a lot based upon reading his posts over the years. Turns out I was right, huh? ;)

Anyway.......

I hear ya ...

vampyrewolf,

After reading thousands of your posts over the years here and on other forums, I find this request most interesting. Interesting because I sometimes suffer the same malady. Maybe the old timers like you and I have indeed finally, as the joke goes, read everything there is on the 'net ...

I received mine earlier this week. :p

Yes, it certainly is ORANGE.

I'm naming this one Citrus and will use it to cut the first orange from one of our trees out back on this year's harvest.

Happy Sypderco guy here. :D

dan :)

Now.......what's this I hear about a purple Native?

Although not an official EDC, I have carried and used a Gen I Delica with the G-2 steel, full serrated, black Ti coated blade since 1996 or so.

For general use, I prefer a plain blade but having this knife with its fully serrated blade tucked away in a back pocket is most comforting. Unless I'm off ...

Timmy,

You have a nice start to your collection.

In my opinion, Spydero (and Sal's knife philosophy) is personified by three knives; the Military, Endura, and Delica. With all due respect to the Worker, these are the knives that have elevated Spyderco to the position it occupies in the knife world ...

Thanks for the replies.

I'm a user, not a collector, but even so it is nice to have the first run model. The nice bright orange will get dirty and Sal will be happy I'm sure.

There was only one left after I ordered mine yesterday evening and they are again out of stock this morning.

Popular knife ...

Orange Military: Only one Run Thus Far?

I just ordered an orange Military!! :D

Due to some health and other issues, I have been out of the Spyderco loop for a time, but was watching the orange Military model. I missed out on what appeared to be the first batch.

But.......in browsing an online dealer I had done business with ...

The Standard is my second favorite Spydie, surpassed only by the Delica.

I have the two pictured below, both purchased in the mid/early 90's. The Standards flank my first, and favorite Delica, an original black Ti, SE purchased about the same time. As you can see, the Standard and the Delica were ...

Manixworld,

The pictured blue Delica's blade is in ATS-55. It gets wickedly sharp and in my experience holds the edge respectably.

More knowledgeable members can chime in with details of the different steels used on the entire D3 series.

David,

Yeah, the blue came out pretty close on that one. I ...

My first Spyderco, an early Delica SE black TI model, was the knife that endeared me to the company and paved the way for many other purchases, mostly Delica's and a few Endura's.

Although I have two D4's and and E4, and they are great knives, I prefer the older, lighter, models.

I'm returning to ...

For five years or so around the late 80's, my EDC team consisted of one of the early Delica SE black TI models paired up with an old, beloved Vic Pioneer.

There wasn't much I couldn't do knife-wise with that EDC team.

If I HAD to, (not that I would WANT to, mind you) I could return to that pair ...

I have several Delica's, from the very earliest to the latest models.

None have caught and maintained my fancy better than the little blue lassie pictured here. Purchased June 7, 2002, and while not EDC'ed all of that time, she has lots of hours, miles, and chores to her credit.

A few days ago ...
