well, put it this way..u've got the RockSALT..now just another H1 bladesteel small folding knife that has to accompany you on a survival trip. i would take both my Salt1 folders, one plain and one serrated.why?because my survivaltrip would be in the rainforest..lotsa rain so the rustfree knives feel at home..lol..

If I had to choose an H-1 folder to accompany the Rock Salt, I'd take the...uh huh, wait for it...H-1 Spyderhawk! Since we don't have it yet, I'd probably take my SE Tasman.

Manix........,

Never been in a rain forest, so I can't help you there.

But........

I have spent thousands of hours hiking, fishing, and camping in the swamps and pine forests in central Florida. In a summer afternoon downpour, perhaps there is not much difference. My equipment and I have been soaked too many times to tell.

First of all, take a fixed blade for survival purposes.

But to answer your question, in my opinion take the biggest, baddest, H1 folder you can find. Since I love the Endura, for me the selection would be quite simple; the Pacific Salt (Endura sized). PE or SE is pretty much up to you. I like the combo edge myself in the Endura, not sure if Sal offers that option in the Salt.

I hoping not to start any edge type wars here. ;)

Stay safe,
dan :)

:spyder: :spyder:  :spyder: :spyder:Out of the 5 H1's I own, I would want to have my Saver Salt on me. But, with that said, I don't own any fixed blades, sinse I've never been a sheath guy :) John

the island i live on is temperate rainforest. :D

i'd say that the rock salt and aqua salt would be best bets for survival. as far as a folder goes, pack a SE pacific and an SE tasman. don't forget a small sharpening tool.

Pacific Salt PE . It's an awesome knife with nice edge geometry - please, get a yellow handled one - easy to find and looks great!

- best wishes, Jazz.
