Question....
Question....
i did a search on (Spyderco Standard) found alot of standard stuff but not on the knife itself.
my question though, is the Spyderco Standard the only delica shaped knife that comes in black g10 ?
also is there a micarta delica ?
the reason im asking this is: on an add i found, it looks like a standard which i want, but claims its something else, it claims its a micarta handled delica
also what steel did the standard have ?
thanks in advance

If you go to Ted's link of all spyderco's and click on the standard/economy it will give you all variations as well as a picture of the SS version

It appears to me that the Economy came first in SS and was reintroduced with the name change to Standard with G10 around 1995. First without liners, then with one liner and then with two liners. Looks like it was produced for less than 3 full years with G10. My C05GS has ATS-55 and I think that they all did. It appears that the Standard might have been the first to use G10.RIOT wrote:my question though, is the Spyderco Standard the only delica shaped knife that comes in black g10 ?

Don't leave earth without some teeth. I carry a knife to open a can of worms.
The Standard is my second favorite Spydie, surpassed only by the Delica.
I have the two pictured below, both purchased in the mid/early 90's. The Standards flank my first, and favorite Delica, an original black Ti, SE purchased about the same time. As you can see, the Standard and the Delica were essentially the same size.

The blurry camera phone pic does not show it but the PE Standard has seen lots of use and carry. The SE, not so much.
The G10 scales had liners on the back side only giving the knife an extremely solid feel noticeably heavier than the Delica. The blades on both of mine are ATS-55. I don't know if any other steel was used in the model. The clip mounting holes provided for tip down carry only.
I was extremely saddened when they were discontinued. They were great knives. Grab up any that you can.
Of all the discontinued models, I would most like to see the Standard revived or at least a sprint run. Please, Sal.
Cheers,
dan :)

ukpk ? thats a cool knife if you have restrictions on locks, i bought one and its basicly a caly3 g10 that doesnt lock up, not into it much really, but for not having a lock it locks up very well compared to old pocket knives ive seen as a kidamen74 wrote:Hey RIOT.
