Can you elaborate on this? Curious of what you mean exactly.matthewkuhl wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 5:36 pmMy solution was actually grinding the cage to allow the bearing to engage more fully. Takes about 15 seconds on the belt sander and i do it to all my Manixes, LW or liner

PM2 Salt DLC MagnaCut HRC?
Hi,
I just bought a PM 2 Salt in DLC coated MagnaCut and I am cutout what the HRC would be on a DLC MagnaCut blade. Because of the application of DLC coating the hardness is sometimes lower than without a coating due to the heat of application.

Thanks I’m going to try this recipe. It’s kind of difficult to get Rit Dye in the Netherlands but I managed. Now I need to wait for the Native 5 and dye to arrive.
How is the color holding up? Any signs of fading or that it comes off in the corners?

Thanks for the info! I try to get an olive drab color. So maybe I’m going to mix a bit of brown with green Rit Dye.

How to Rit Dye Native 5 Salt Dark green?
Hi,
What kind of color Rit Dye can I use to give my Native 5 Salt in Magnacut a dark green color?
Shall I use hot water? Any additives?
Maybe you have a picture if you’ve done it yourself?
Best,
Ruud

I also depends what kind of steel you use. A steel with a lot of carbides performs most of the time better with a coarse finish. I believe Scienceofsharp.com has a nice article about it.
