Salty Dreams Poll

Post by SchoonerBum »

I was inspired by the Salt Dreams thread. What is everyone excited about? Vote for as many as you want to own.

FRN Backlock Caribbean
Aqua Salt 2 and/or Fish Hunter 2 in Magnacut
Police Salt (aka “Revenue Cutter”, because I can’t resist an obscure nautical pun and a knife joke in the same name) 🙂
Street Beat and/or Street Bowie Salt
Temperance 1 Salt
Rock and/or Leaf Jumper Salt
Sheep Jumper Salt (Leaf Jumper with a sheepsfoot blade)
FRN Magnacut Siren
Magnacut Waterway
Magnacut Lil’ Native Lightweight Salt

There are lots of other good ideas but this is what I had room for here. 🙂

A Police Salt would be cool. Interested to see how the PD1 sprint sells.

Voted Magnacut Lil’ Native Lightweight Salt, but I'd probably want a Salt 2 in Magnacut and a Dragonfly in Magnacut before anything on this list...

I can’t deny my affection for the Siren , having both models . FRN would be fine with Magnacut . MG2
MNOSD 0002 / Do more than is required of you . Patton

I left the existing Seki salts off the list because rumour is that magnacut is already in that pipeline somewhere. 😁

A leaf jumper salt would be an absolute buy for me and would be more feasible for production but I had to vote for the Caribbean. The Caribbean is one of Spydercos best designs and more Caribbean love and variations would be the "Dream".

I voted for the backlock Caribbean despite remembering being told in another thread that it would be impossible to make such a knife. Am I thinking of a different knife? I hope so, because a backlock FRN Caribbean is grail territory.

A MagnaCut Waterway, already an all-time favorite in LC200N, would be an instant buy. If the scales were orange, yellow or zombie green it'd be faster than instant!

Voted for an FRN siren and lil native as those would be immediate buys for me.

I'd add the option for combo edge, I think the salts are the perfect application for it and as far as I know there's never been one.

1.) Of course FRN BACKLOCK Caribbean!!
Clearly prefer FRN over G10, and a comp.lock is just not for me in a larger, outdoorsy, harder use folder, while it does not get better than "backlock".

2.) RockJumper Salt - linerless, lighter weight, bright color and also super rustproof steel imo could have "saved" this model in the first place. More what climber and mountaineers are looking for...

3.) FRN Siren, but (also) in SE and with a boye dent (or some other solution that prevents the blade from getting a bit loose and "rattly" when gripping the handle really hard in a hammer grip).
Top three going by pocket-time (update April 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10), Chaparral SE (CTS XHP)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Endela SE (K390)

Love the poll- found myself voting for several that I would definitely buy.

I still want a Pacific Salt wharncliffe. In whatever steel Spyderco wants. I just love the blade shape and want a liner less salty one.
