Let's not forget those dang awful plastic bubble packs.

My Harpy makes short work of them. I'll buy a G-10 (or even a FRN) Harpy if Spyderco ever makes one.

My Civilian cut a bubble pack so quick it scared me, I went back to the Harpy.

For pocket EDCing, so the Endura is out for me.

For slicing food - sandwiches, fruit and the like.

Is anything a noticeably better slicer than the Delica FFG for its size?

I think the Caly 3,5 and Sage are better slicers. But they are marginally better, not noticeably .

The Harpy and your other PEs are more or less opposites.

The PEs are good at slicing and clean cuts. Basic use is by pushing.
The Harpy is good at ripping. Basic use is by pulling.

My Harpy doesn't cut paper well either, but it goes through plastic bubble packs or seatbelts effortlessly.

My first Spydercos were a matching Foliage Green Endura and Delica. I really liked them. But later, I picked up a pair that were FFG, and they made better EDCs.

Notice, I said a Caly 3.5. The handle is almost the same size as the Caly 3 in your pocket, but you get 1/2" more blade.

I keep my Ladybug on the desk in my home office. I actually use it 80% of the time at home. For bigger jobs I reach in the drawer for a bigger knife.

However; I find the Ladybug blade too short for a lot of food jobs, especially slicing apples.

It's nice to know they have great customer service.

It's also great that with 11 knives I have never had a need for customer service. :)

The only thing I give a 9 out of 10 would be the cf scales. I like the sage 1 better. Not that they are bad but I just prefer the other cf better. Plenty of forums on this topic though...

The only AO knife I own is a Kershaw Blur. Once I get my thumb positioned on the stud, which has a sharp edge, and push it the blade opens lightning fast.

I'm also for FRN/FFG.

The SS looks a little nicer, but nothing holds in your hand like FRN.

If you want a smaller blade, it's little brother is the Delica.

My favored approach is an "empty hand" method my father learned from Davy Crocket.

1. Wail till the bear opens his mouth to growl or bite.
2. Put your hand in his mouth, reach as far in as your arm length allows, then grab ahold.

Interesting to note that after multiple pages of accusations of deception and "other" comments, the number of people that acually sent back their knife for replacement or refund was zero, nada, zip. Not a single customer thought it was so important as to send in their knife. That does say something ...

What you just did was re-create the basic edge geometry, and make it equal on both sides. That is "reprofiling". You used 150 grit sandpaper, and I use the 120 grit diamond rods.

Now you can start the normal sharpening process from a clean slate. Hope it works well for you.

I had the same problem with my Sage 1. I needed to reprofile the edge.

To properly reprofile the edge, you really need the diamond rods. The grey stone just doesn't cut fast enough ...

It really helps with ZDP if you use a loupe when sharpening, and pair that with a sharpie marker to make absolutely sure you're hitting the edge. If you're hitting the shoulder, you'll be making 1000s of strokes before you wear it down and hit the edge and start making it sharp again. ZDP is not a ...
