Well I have to say I am a bit shocked how the auction ended. $44 for a terrible fake. The high bidder had 500+ feedback all positive. +1 fools and their money

IMO It is a second. I own and have seen many seconds and this is a common mark. Additionally the seconds always seemed to marked on the right side of the blade. I have seen a Chinook second with an identical mark.

In my collection I have a Vesuvius 2002 forum knife that is a second. So I don't ...

Calypso Jr. PE in black FRN. Though has been mixed with the Gray, RED ZDP, Micarta, and Stainless handled variants. Lately it has been the Caly 3 CF/ZDP. Love the PE Calys!

MT02P Mule is here!

My MT02P mule came today. I swapped the scales from my MT01. Here are a few rather poor pictures. Scales by Ray(RaytheBigfoot) and Kydex sheath by Scott(STR). We should start a new picture thread for the MT02P in the Photo Gallery Forum.

You likely noticed, but I find it peculiar that the SS Caly Jr. are the only Calypsos that are not flat ground. The are hollow ground I believe. Enjoy it. I have a SS PE Caly Jr. I carry occasionally. BTW, did you win this recently on Ebay. I was the high bidder on one and got snipped at the last ...

Franco thanks for the reply. It is good to know that the mule is close to the target Rc value. I had not seen that target value before. I only tested the Mule in 1 spot because I did not want to dimple mark it too much. The scales will be removable and I plan to swap them to future runs.

I may not ...

Mule Hardness!

We have a Rockwell hardness tester in our shop at work. I was in there enlarging the scale holes to 3/16" before shipping it to Ray for some G10 scales. So, I decided to test the Mule hardness while I was at it and it scored a 63! I tested it behind the spydie hole on the tang. I only tested it once ...

Here are most of my Calypsos, I have added a few since this photo was taken. I have added the serrated stainless, serrated micarta, black zdp and CF zdp Caly3. I have added multiples of my favorites. For me the gateway drug was the micarta jr., I guess now I am full blown junkie.

Mule scale holes on future runs

Sal et al,

Will you please confirm the scale mounting holes in the tang will be 3/16" on future runs. I read this in one the mule threads but want to confirm before I put my Mule under the "mill".

Raythebigfoot is going to make me some removable scales but I want them to be interchangeable so I ...

Excuse my ignorance but what is YAMTT? I received my mules safe and sound but have no idea what YAMTT means. Mine only had to travel 90 miles though.

I use a wooden machinist box to store my knife collection. Lots of little felt lined drawers. It works well and keeps my kids out of them. It is lockable as well, but would only keep the honest thieves out. I bought it a Harbor Freight here is a link:

I would like to thank Sal and crew for putting this whole project together. I got 2 mules 1 to use and 1 to put away. I love flat ground blades and the shape of the mule is like a fixed blade Lil' Temp. I couldn't resist using the mule even handless and used it to cut up veggies for dinner. It ...

Thanks for the info. I did a search here for Tenacious prior to posting but the thread you posted did not come up. I guess it was because Sal had Tenacious in quotes in the title. Sorry, it has been awhile since I visited the forum and I missed this thread.
