Mini-Ritter Griptillian
I have and love a Titanium/G10 CPM M4 Millie that I love, love, love. But I don't pocket it quite as much as I used to. It's a big knife. Not bad with jeans, but perhaps not the best for dress pants or shorts. Great knife but I tend to baby it a little.

BladeHQ gave me sum bum info
As Taz has said, the person I spoke with at BladeHQ was misinformed. I called back earlier this week and was told they have no idea when the knife is coming
Sorry to get everyone jazzed up about the FFG Ladybug's arrival. Can't help but hold my breath for this one :D

Why not buy the Baby Goddard Sprint?
This may not be the solution you're looking for, but if you're really into combo blades and want a combo-bladed keychain knife, why not try the Baby Goddard? I bought the original for my brother and he loves it. Very nice little knife - an upgrade, really, from the standard ladybug as it has nicer ...

I hope you get your wish but...
you are really the exception from what I've seen. Most people I know feel that combo-edges are the worst of both worlds - not enough serrations to really be useful plus you get the pain in the neck sharpening of a serrated blade.

Bummer. Maybe I'd need to use Aluminum scales that could incorporate the backspacer, spring holder, etc.

How hard is it to get custom scales?
So... I was thinking that since the new models come with screwed construction, it should be possible to swap out the FRN scales for custom scales of some sort, say G10 or CF or micarta, even.
My question is, how hard would it be to find someone to do a set of one-off G10 scales for a Ladybug?

FFG Ladybug 3 in ZDP-189
Last week I spoke to a customer service rep at BladeHQ.com and they said that the new FFG Ladybug in ZDP-189 should arrive sometime this week. Not sure if any other online retailers will be receiving them this early, but I'm thrilled :D

Temperance 2 (or maybe a fixed-blade Ritter Survival Knife)
I tend to shy away from the uber-large, sharpened-pry-bar style knives in favor of better slicers and so the Temperance 2 would be right up my alley. But if that proved a bit too "delicate" I might check out the (non-spyderco) Ritter Survival Knife. IMHO, the Doug Ritter blades tend to split the ...

Why not a long gun?
If it was that bad an area, I'm surprised you didn't opt to take a long gun of some kind, like a carbine or a shotgun. Or what that have been asking for trouble rather than preparing for it?

I'm still kicking myself for having missed out on the home maker and the Yin/Yang set. Would love to get another stab at some :spyder: kitchen knives.

Phrenik,
Manbug is a prospective knife mentioned by Sal in an earlier thread. Sal spoke of it being a "Manlier" or beefier Ladybug variant, with liners & bolsters or some other strengthening options. As you might expect, most of us can hardly wait to get the details on that. I'd be thrilled with a ...

Lots of great responses but here are my two
1) As others have said, I'd like to see a paramilitary 2 with a titanium scale compression lock, similar to the ATR. And I think it would be even better if the opposite scale was G10 or CF. Blade steel could be S90 or CTS-XHP or CPM-M4, etc.
2) Manbug or Ladybug given the G10 handle w/ scales ...

Try it - seriously, just try it and you'll see!
There's not much to say that hasn't already been said, but I wanted to give some added emphasis to an earlier response. I can't remember who, but one of the replies said "I'd already converted [the questioner] by getting him to carry an endura..."

Thanks
Your answers make perfect sense, but it's nice to have my suspicions confirmed. Still, I guess I was hoping to hear that it would be out in a few months rather than 6-7 months. Half a year feels like forever!

When to expect the new LGRE Ladybug
Saw that the 2011 catalogue has a new ladybug featuring a FFG blade of ZDP-189 and a BRG handle. I'm so drooling over that. When can I expect that and will it just be a sprint model or a regular production? How can I best make sure I get one as soon as they come out?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Baby Goddard-sized Manbug
Seen lots of posts on possible sizes and options for manbug. For me, the current ladybug size is about perfect, but I do remember the baby Goddard as being just a touch bigger, but still perfectly suitable for keychain carry.

Military and Ladybug
I carry my M4 Military in my right front pocket and a purple FRN Ladybug on my key chain. Great combo. If I want to be more discrete or non-knife-person friendly, I pull out the Ladybug. If I need a bigger blade or don't want to fish in my pocket for my keys, I can flick out the Millie.
