Both the stores that sell knives near me have a very limited selection and charge full retail. The closest cutlery store is an hour and a half away and charges full retail. My G-10 scaled Military was tearing up my pockets too so I sanded (400 wet/dry in water) the G-10 and the problem was solved. The knife looks more refined, the traction is still good and no more shredded pockets.

This says it all.
Grasp the blade by the Spyderhole, draw the knife from the pocket, flick the handle down and it's open. For me, it's faster than tip up. And yes, I have had tip up knives open in my pockets several times.
