Great overview. I agree with your sentiments about the clip. I really wish the clip holes for right hand tip down were drilled for the original para/millie clip to give users that option.

How are the handle ergos compared to the original, does the redesigned handle allow for a comfortable behind ...

Appreciate the replies everyone. Just finished sharpening using the sharpmaker as a bench stone (I found it worked quite well with base right side up and stones in upper storage slots), and my bushcraft is tree-topping with alarming ease. I like this o1, easy to work with, edge holding is pretty ...

Thanks for the response jzmtl. So if I sharpen it on the sharpmaker I would essentially transform the scandi grind into a saber grind?

Sharpening the Bushcraft

Hello everyone.

This is most likely a very stupid question, but I just received my Bushcraft factory second and was about to touch up the edge when I realized that the grind has no secondary bevel. Are special sharpening techniques necessary for the Scandi grind, or can I sharpen it on my ...

Welcome to the forum.

Very nice collection, those customized scales are superb.

Did not realize so many forum members maintained an interest in combat aircraft, it is certainly a fascinating subject.

The P38 is a great choice. My personal favorite is K. Tank's masterpiece, the FW 190.

In short, no they will not.

CPM S30V is a premium forged steel developed specifically for knife making. Assuming it is well heat treated (and if you get a Spyderco it will be) S30V takes a great edge (albeit not quite as fine as VG10) and retains it extremely well.

It does take somewhat longer to ...

To echo the previous posters, never put a quality blade in the dishwasher.

I regularly carry one of my Militaries (both in CPM S30V) IWB. I suggest the following:

-Take a few seconds at the end of each day to wipe down the blade with a clean rag or cloth.

-Once or twice a week, wipe the blade ...

Phenomenal pictures Mr. Blonde, some fantastic knives.

Can you comment on the action of the Para 2? Did Sal end up incorporating the self-close feature or is the action identical to that of the current Para?

Great choices.

I would strongly recommend replacing your current EDC with the Millie for a few days. It seems gigantic at first but it shrinks with regular use. A phenomenal cutting tool that carries really well for its size.

After carrying my Para for so long and now my Military, I have developed a slight preference for the high rise tip down carry. That said, I have no problem switching to the deep carry tip up clip on my UKPK.

Honestly, I think that tip up versus tip down carry is very much overemphasized within the ...

Outstanding pictures.

The Para was my first full flat ground Spyderco and it remains one of my favorites.

I would strongly recommend taking a look at the Military. I think it is even better than the Para.

@vampyrewolf

You mentioned the grain structure of the steel. This is probably a stupid question but how can you tell what a particular steel's grain structure is? Is it something you can decipher by examining/sharpening the steel or is it information that one ...

First Millie, have some questions

Hello everyone. I have been lurking on this excellent forum for quite some time, and finally joined a few days ago. I got my first premium Spyderco, a paramilitary, about two years ago, and a few months ago I purchased my fourth, the much-exalted Millie. Needless to say there will be many more ...
