That's great news, Sal. I was considering the purchase of a Rescue series knife, and it sounds like the my two main reasons for not really considering the D'Allara have been addressed in the updated version. Think I'll wait and see what the drop point looks like. Should be perfect for my needs ...

Not exactly sure why, but I've been wanting something from the Rescue series or perhaps an Assist II. Maybe an Atlantic Salt that I could use for kayaking or at work.

Several years ago when I needed a "working knife" (or, a knife I needed for work), the Native CE (440V) was my choice. It's always right there in my pocket, and easily handles all of the daily cutting chores that I throw at it. Probably one of my most valued tools.

1. about 3" (A Native CE)

2. At work, typically opening bales of hay or straw and bags of animal bedding materials. Cutting animal food items. Breaking down cardboard produce boxes. Various other cutting tasks as needed.
