Re: The Magnacut Paramilitary 2
My Para 2 Magnacut showed up a couple weeks ago from my favorite knife retailer in Canada. I was on an email notification for when it was instock. Checking my emails several times a day paid off! The milled handle actually feels great in the hand. I'm liking the Magnacut steel so far. So far it's ge...

Re: Green Native 5 Salt LC200N
I do like that green colour! Hopefully Spyderco will release a Para 2, 3 and or Manix in that colour.

Re: Post up your Rit dye projects..
I used Rit Dye, Racing Red, my first Rit Dye mods. I also used the Rit Dye Fixative bath to lock in the colour. However the solution became slightly reddish and I lost the fade to yellow on the handles on my Salts. I also did a grey G10 Jester that didn't turn out as red as I wanted.

Re: Manix Modifications. What have you done? What do you want to do?
I decided to do a RIt Dye job on the the Rex 45. I got the idea from RustyIron and used the Racing Red. The FRCP is definitely harder to change colour and this was my first Rit Dye attempt. I used a hot water bath and added some vinegar and soaked it for 20min. I had previously added a patina to the...

Green Native 5 Salt LC200N
I picked up a Native 5 Salt LC200N in green a while ago and finally took it out fishing on our local river. We fish for Chinook Salmon and previous years I had used a variety of Spydercos to clean the fish. Last year I was using the Fish Hunter. I had thought the Native would have difficulty in usin...

Para 2 SMKW Lava Flow
I just got my Para 2 SMKW Lava Flow. I must admit it's even nicer in the hand when compared to the pics. I was unsure about smooth Carbon Fibre scales ( initially I posted they were G10 ) but I like them and they have a great feel in the hand. Very cool the way it changes colors depending on the ang...

Re: Has Anyone Used a Spyderco Folder for Field Dressing?
I use the Stretch and Gayle Bradley. The GB is almost as strong as fixed blade. I used the GB to cut a moose sternum open while using both hands on the handle. Not many folders could do that..

Re: Odd Question: Sushi and Spyderco?
For when we go out to our local sushi restaurant, some of the rolls are quite large. My wife uses her Dragonfly Salt, doesn't even get a second glance from the waitress. The razor sharp edge works great!

Simple Fix for ARK Sheath
I just received my Spyderco Ark that I bought online. It is smaller than I thought but it will be a handy blade. The retention of the knife in the sheath was a bit less than I preferred. To improve it, I put a small dab of "Shoe Goo" on the inside of the sheath (both sides) on the nub that...

I've had mine for a month now and it has pushed my Para 2 out of my pocket ( note: I'm very fond of my Para 2). I edc the Yojimbo 2 and have found the blade shape to be very useful. Easy to sharpen and it takes very keen edge. I have used it for a variety of tasks from vehicle repair (trimming plast...

Chaparral
I received mine in Canada from W&W. No issues with it, smooth opening and sharp blade. I really like the size, just a bit bigger than the Dragonfly and the handle allows for a 4 finger grip. Nice thin blade, sturdy handle with the liners. It has a better feel in the hand than the Delica. Definit...

I got mine the other day, my 3rd DF. By far the sharpest out of the box, it could whittle a hair. I like it a lot, my 3rd H1 Spydie.

Gayle Bradley - Moose Update
We returned from a successful moose hunt, harvesting two moose between our group of 4 hunters. The GB worked very well for cleaning/skinning the moose. No issue with a slippery handle despite being covered in blood. The secure lock is very nice and gives confidence when making full power cuts ( ie t...

Finally had a chance to put the GB to use for dressing a mule deer we got hunting yesterday. It worked very well for the task at hand. The strong lock made it feel as secure as a fixed blade for cutting the sternum. The handle wasn't too slippery and the curve of the blade worked well for skinning. ...

Catching a few Sockeye salmon these last few days on the Fraser River, BC. Using my Salt 1 to clean the fish... Works well, great fishing knife.

I would definitely get one in Orange G10. I've use my Paramilitary with G10 cleaning large salmon at the river and was impressed by the grip with wet hands.
