Where are these deals?
I know the first part of this thread is a few years old but where in the world are you guys finding Dodos for less than $100? Seriously, my jaw is hanging open reading these finds.

Way cool
Those look amazing. Interested to know how the color holds up to normal wear and tear. How deep do you think the dye penetrates the FRN? Also, is the process the same for dying G-10?

That symbol . . .
That symbol of the capital E w/ the arrow is the symbol that the knife was designed by Eric Glesser. You would also find it on knives like the Dodo and Scorpius. Sal has his own symbol that would be found on knives like the Urban and The ATR.

swapped blade on urban
Would you say that fit and finish was the same after the swap? I'm a little concerned that I will purchase both knives (which will be almost $200) do the swap and be left with two knives that both don't fit together too well. I don't know why they don't offer both of them with the two different ...

Blade swap on the urban
I did it. Was a little surprised at how much effort/tension is on the bar/spine. I now have a FG wharncliff that I don't really want, but I'll find a use for it eventually. So It was not the easiest blade swap, but the end result rocks. Orange G-10 with the leaf shaped blade is perfection. I wish ...

I have several of the variations made. It is great. I cannot carry Milli or Para b/c work environment. The Meerkat is perfect. I have read about complaints with vertical blade play but EDC'ed a drop point daily and have never had any issues. Leftys hate it b/c of th locking mechanism. I'm a righty ...

Thanks for the info guys.
The newly obtained cranberry was a surprise when I opened it. The auction (ebay) made no mention of it being a collector or for that matter, being a variant. The person just used a stock photo and listed it as NIB.

Help with a V on a Salsa
Does anyone know what the variation on this Salsa is? Numbered "016V" but does not appears any different than my others except for the wire clip cannot be reversed to the L side.
Thanks,

Ladybug variations
Sal,
Thanks for taking the time to ask us.
The Ladybug is the most used, around the house, type knife. I agree with the many other people that have said it is simple and cost effective. IMHO the colors of the FRN handles make them "fun". Don't get me wrong. . . I love the black FRN, almite ...

The Urban is now on the "New Knives" section of the catalog home page. I guess that makes it official. Ordered one earlier today; now more waiting.

It has happened to me on my most recent purchase. I picked up a Sage after looking at them for a looong time. I was having a hard time deciding between the Sage and the Caly 3. I picked the Sage (and have been second guessing myself ever since) and I just can't get used to it. It is big in ...

I think the Urban is out.
I've been waiting (like many) for the release of the Urban. I had gone to my only local Spyderco retailer in my area last week and asked them to check it's availability. At that time, they called Golden but no luck; they just said it was not yet available.

Phantom Lock
I have EDC a Meerkat for the past 9 months and use it frequently. I have never had a failure of the lock mechanism/issue with reliability in any way.
The only thing I complain is blade play on all of the three Meerkats I handled in the past.
I have owned 3 or 4 Meerkats and have gifted/sold ...

Looking for some Urban details.
I, like many others, am looking forward to getting an Urban in my hands. I have noticed in the 09 catalog that the FG model is specifically listed with the leaf blade and likewise the orange model is listed with the Wharncliff blade. Of course, my hope was to get the orange handle with the leaf ...
