I had that Jumpmaster in my cart but talked myself out of it. Congrats to whoever picked it up!

That's right; I'd forgotten about the Spyderhawk. I've never seen that Rock or those Ladybugs before, though. Thanks for posting those!

Re: Future blacked-out Golden Salt models?

I'm certain it's been thought of before, but I sure would love to see some unique Salt models released as Sprint runs.

Keep in mind, I don't know a single thing about the knife business -- I'm just a knife nerd who wants as many Salt options as possible.

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

I've got a hawkbill Dragonfly on the way. It's gonna replace my Harpy, which I love the ergonomics of, but the steel handle didn't end up working out for me.

Re: What is your all time favorite steel?

It'll be H1/H2 for me. A large part of that is due to my location (two miles inland on the Northern California coast), but also, I love serrated edges and SE H1/H2 has proven more than capable for my use.

Re: need recomandation knife black blade

For a fixed blade option, consider the Street Bowie. I've used a friend's, and the way that knife draws from the sheath is really ergonomic.

Also, since no one has posted a wharncliffe yet, there's also the blacked-out Yojimbo/Yojumbos. These ...

Re: New lake knife

If you're prioritizing slicing ability and the quality of the locking mechanism, I'd go with a plain edge Native Chief in Magnacut. If you want something with a stouter tip, then consider a plain edge Pacific in LC200N FFG.

Neither knife will excel at food prep, but I think they'd do well enough ...

Thanks for the update, Sal. Does this mean we’re not likely to see any SPY-27 knives with spyderedge?

Re: Just the tip?

I've chipped off a very tiny part of the very tip of one off my Tasman Salt SE's, when I accidentally hit the tip against a glass tabletop while cutting through something. It bent, and when I tried to gently bend it back using the Sharpmaker, the bent part kind of flaked off. So even an H1 tip can ...

Spyderco's got a great selection of wharnies, but I've had to get some stuff done on my own on the rare occasion 😃

I'm not a huge fan of liner locks, but I really like this design. It's got a really cool, modern-bauhaus kind of aesthetic.

My Stretch 2 XL SE in H2 arrived today from Dack, and my first impressions are overwhelmingly positive. I've been looking for a replacement for my Pacific 2 for quite some time and this might be the one.

Re: If you could choose one new Spyderco to be released in K390, which would it be?

I voted for the Bodacious, with the caveat that I want SE with that DLC coating (edit: or better yet, Spyderco's upcoming proprietary coating, which I'm irrationally excited about!).

Re: Seki City back lock quality in 2022?

I haven't experienced lock rock with any of the three Pacifics I've used (two of which I used regularly). Maybe I'm just lucky, or maybe I don't use my Seki lock backs as hard as others? Who knows. I'll take a look at my Stretch 2XL's lock-up when it inevitably arrives from Dack and see how it ...

Re: Another thread for discussing a Chaparral XL - now that it came one step closer to become a reality

Will Spyderedge be a possibility in the first run? ELUs are really raving about the current serrated model.

Given how amazing* the SE Chaparral is, I just assumed there would be a SE Chaparral XL right off the bat. I'm still hopeful, but I appreciate the gentle nudge back to reality. :crossed ...

Re: Easiest Sharpening Spyderco Steel

I've only sharpened PE VG-10 thus far, and I gotta say I was shocked at how easily and quickly I could bring that blade back to an impressively sharp edge.
