Re: 2026 Forum Calendar Contest!

This year I'm submitting the picture of my 10 years old Spyderco Dragonfly Salt 2 .

I grew up poor, behind the Iron Curtain. I got my first knife when I was 10 years old and was told to take care of it, because otherwise it will rust and it's going to be taken away from me. We didn't have access ...

Re: Calendar Contest Reminder & Request for Feedback

I’m mostly reading the forum, rarely posting, but just trying to learn more from the members here. I was collecting some pictures over the last year with the idea of participating again this time around. I was lucky enough to win a page in your calendar last year. Got me motivated for sure. Somehow ...

Re: Old Spyderco Chinook 2 restoration

Looks good as new. How did you recondition the G10? Asking as the G10 on a few of my older Spydies are starting to turn white as well.

To start with a mineral spirit bath (a couple of hours), followed by a soap, warm water and nylon brush x3. Let it dry and apply a liberal amount of Ballistol ...

Re: Old Spyderco Chinook 2 restoration

Thank you Gents for your kind words. This might be a perfect retirement hobby for me eventually. The only thing that I still would like to replace is the spring as there’s no closing bias right now. I’m guessing that the spring is just not very springy anymore…

Old Spyderco Chinook 2 restoration

Got my hands on this knife a couple of days back. Kind of sad condition really. Rust visible on all the parts, side to side blade play, pocket clip with no tension, gritty action, dirty G10 scales, body screws packed with very fine sand, scratched blade. Took it apart, dumped everything in the ...

Very nice!

To my eyes this looks so much more beautiful than a "new and shiny" look could ever do.
Thanks. I like them worn out and full of the character as well. This one is almost 20 years old, but still working great.

Re: Potential Tariffs & Golden, CO.

Just for clarity tariffs on products are paid by the importer not the country they were made in, then those increases in cost usually passed on to the consumer. Blanket tariffs would effect not just completed knives but any imported parts or materials that make up a US made knife or accessory ...

Don’t want to sound too harsh, but when you start losing your loved ones the knives or anything material for that matter are not worth worrying about. Everything is relative. It’s good to remember that. That’s how I deal with those situations anyway.
