Are there any hunters out there?

I love a good big game field dressing/skinning knife. I’ve used a Spyderco Shaman in the past for some of that business. It’s a prefect knife for the job. I primarily used a “custom” S90V Shaman with blaze orange G10 scales in the past with a deep carry clip. It’s an absolutely perfect knife, but I ...

Re: Destroyed Pants

That’s nothing. Try carrying around a Strider full TI Double Gunner Grip. It's basically a cheese grater.

Re: Hunters!

This is the knife I’m using for deer gutting/cleaning. It’s a Spyderco Magnacut Mule with bright blaze orange G10 handles. I’ve had to take apart and clean every folder I’ve used to do the job. It’s a pain. That’s why I’m going fixed blade. The Mule blade length is ideal for the task. The orange ...

Re: Do Chemically Treated Towles/Rags Exist to Wipe Off Rust?

Forget the wipes. I think you'll have a very hard time finding treated towels that will remove surface rust. Just use a soft cotton towel with some Flitz. Its will remove surface rust pretty easily.

Anyone have a picture of the "Warrior"? I don't recall hearing of or seeing this model.

Zirconium is corrosion resistant, exotic, and about 5/6 the density of iron/steel.
Yes but have you tried carrying a PM2 with full steel or zirc scales? It just feels like dead, unusable, unnecessary, weight. They look cool though.

Re: Zirconium scaled Para 3.

I tried Zirconium from Menton Boss once on a PM2. They were just too heavy.

Re: S90V Obsolete?

We seriously need a "LOL" emoji in this forum.

Long live S90V!!! It's been my favorite for years and I have over a dozen S90V Spydercos.

If Magnamax makes S90V obsolete, then every other stainless steel goes down as well. Are you willing to stomach that? I'm starting to realize this stuff is ...

There are some nice 3V fixed blades out there. I would be all over a hard use 3V Spyderco.

Hinderer Battle Black Ranch Bowie Harpoon Spanto.

Whats with all the fakes on ebay?

I constantly watch Sypderco knives for sale on ebay. I have noticed over the past few months that there are literally hundreds of fake Spydercos for sale from China. They are clearly fake by their appearance and very low prices. Why isn't ebay doing anything about this? Its doesn't look like many of ...

Re: S110V / S90V difference

The above info is good. Here's my personal experience. I once used an S110V Manix 2 to gut a deer and only touched a few bones in the process. After I was done the blade was chipped towards the tip of the knife in several spots. it was pretty bad chipping but I was able to sharpen it out. S90V is my ...

Re: New lake knife

I'd try out the Spyderco Siren Salt in LC200N. They may be discontinued but can be found online. I have the S90V Sprint version and really like it for water related activities. It has a firm and stout blade with FFG. It would make a perfect boat knife.

Nice patina and where did you get scales ? MG2

Thanks. I got the scales from a guy who was making them for sale on ebay a couple years ago. I forget his name and they are unmarked. They are Ti and very well done and solid.

Re: Sculpted scale identification needed

I have a Para 3 LW S90V with similar “carved” looking titanium scales. They are very well done with some milling on the back of the scale to reduce weight. I bought the knife as is with the box but no scale id info. I have no idea where they came from or who made them. I’d love to know where they ...

Re: Spyderco G-clip

I have tried to use them but they just dont work very well. I prefer a Mummert Slotted Ti Clip. They are very versatile and very sturdy and firm. I have several on my fixed blade sheaths.
