Re: Your best example of a Spyderco

The Spyderco One Eyed Jack is to me the knife that is the best example of their work. This is is simply a beautiful knife and looks as custom as the original. The Spyderco Chaparral with the stepped and stealth titanium are some others.

I have to agree, my One Eyed Jack really is the most ...

Re: What is your favorite Spyderco collaboration knife?

I'd have to go with

Brouwer
SpydieChef
South Fork

In probably that order, but that can vary.

Re: China

Aside from 2 Bow River Phil Wilson models, I own no knives that were made in China. There are a few from various manufacturers that I really like the look of, but I don't need them to live, and I choose not to spend my money there. I will probably buy 2 of the new Shelter Coves, under duress, just ...

Re: Compression Lock Models with Back Lock

I agree with the "all of them" sentiment as I won't buy another compression lock, but a backlock Shaman would be an immediate buy for me.

Re: Temperance 2... in 15v?

Yes! I'm on board with 3v as well, it's a hard working steel, and I find it pretty resistant to rust for a "carbon" steel.

Re: Let's revisit the Tatanka

I'm a fan of the Tatanka. I ended up buying three, one for me, one spare, and one as a gift for my knife buddy. I carry it when in the woods and when hunting. Partially for LARPing purposes ;) , but it IS a much better machete for thorns or thin branches hanging into trails than any other folder I ...

@TazKristi I noticed an error, on Page 152, the description for the CBN ProFile stone has the text from the Medium Ceramic stone copied into it along with the correct text for the CBN stone.

It's a completely unnecessary expense and a waste of resources.

I was kinda hoping for a Polestar with Military style linerlock out of Golden. But honestly, the CL will probably sell better, so I think this was a better investment for Spyderco. May seem boring to some, but I'm very excited for this one and all its variations.

Said it already: I wish ...

Is that compression or back lock?
Compression lock
Thanks Mushroom

Bummer. That's what I'd expected, but hoped it was back lock.

Re: Shaman w/Back Lock

While the Shaman with a backlock is likely not possible, I'd love one with a Walker liner lock. That should be possible in the same form factor.

If the blade is thinned, I'd not be interested. There are lots of thin blades with delicate tips available in Spyderco's lineup as it is.

For me, the ...

Re: Tatanka

I love the Tatanka, I bought 3, 1 for a close friend, two for me. For a new one, I'd like a toughness-biased steel, CMP-3V would be my preference. The current beveled scales are also just right, for me, as is the power lock, I prefer backlocks and like the powerful self close the PL has.

I would ...

Re: Why are most Golden blades on the thicker side?

I like a thicker blade on my pocket knife, because it's the tool I always have, and I might have to use it for something other than slicing. Lifting the jammed tab on a furnace filter cover so I can get my finger under it to pull it open, deburring a piece of plastic that was scuffed, scraping gunk ...

Phil Wilson - Fillet Knife, or really any of his designs.

A Made in Not-China Bow River with a medium tier steel would be fantastic, I find that knife to be extremely handy (I have 2 I use, and 2 spares :) ).
