I really like stainless steel handles. For something a little fancier I like wood or bone. Micarta is nice too. I've never liked FRN, but have to admit it has its place.

Knives are very personal objects. I don't think it's possible to design one knife that is perfect for everyone, but I do think that anyone can find their perfect(or **** close to it) knife in the Spyderco catalog.

I want a JD Smith with bolsters and wood or bone scales. VG-10 blade.

I'm 23. Got my first Spyderco at 13-an old Economy/Standard.Been using/carrying knives since I was about 5.

The Stretch is a **** fine knife.

I've been thinking about a Spyderco with a 1095 blade for sometime now, and think the Centofante III or 4 in 1095 would be a great low cost knife.

I lost my first Spyderco several years ago. It was an old Economy/Standard I got from my brother-in-law, and the only decent knife I had at the time. Very painful loss.

I also hate liner locks. I have to admit I've only owned one knife with a liner lock, but that blade nicked my thumb so many times when closing that I never wanted to try another one.

I guess I'm lucky, I've never had any problem with UPS. The few times I've had something shipped by FedEx it seemed to take much longer.
I have had various problems with USPS. I ordered a book from a seller in Florida this last August and still have not received it-probably never will.But that was ...

The blades on the Raven and Crow look the best I've seen in the Byrd Line, but I hate liner locks. :mad:

VG-10 seems to be my favorite all around steel, but I also really like 1095 and 440C.

What do you use a blade like that for?

My understanding is that Cold Steel merely carries the Spyderco Sharpmaker in their catalog. Still a Spyderco product, just distributed by Cold Steel.
But I could be wrong.

I don't know about rust prevention, but I think the Pam would go rancid. Not very pleasant.
I'd rather use mineral oil for a non toxic coating.

I just use dishwashing soap with a nylon scrub brush. Comes right off.

I believe Sal Glesser has tried to discourage people from cutting into the Spyderhole to make the Wave because it weakens the blade.
