Re: Frankenspyder Lets see some Freaks

I wanted the perfect work knife so I put a combination edge blade on the glow handle. No more losing a knife in the dark and the combi blade is more useful with the various things I cut at work.

goke, glad to see so many of my favorite blades actually being used. Lots of the famous beasts and beauties hanging there. Looks like a wicked edge on the Chinook, how does that one perform for you?

Yeah, I love that edge on the Chinook, the previous owner put it on. He must have had an Edge Pro ...

Swapping Manix2 blade to a Manix2 moonglow? Any advice?

I want to put a serrated 154cm Manix2 blade on my Manix2 Moonglow. Is there much work or finesse required to do this? I've never taken apart any of my Spyderco's. Swapping the scales would be easiest but I want to use the skeletonized liners on the Moonglow.

I'm doing this to make a perfect work ...

I love the Matriarch and I wear it inside the waist band when I carry it. It's nice and light- that's why I like it better than the Civilian. I don't think it's much smaller than the Civilian blade, maybe a few millimeters?

Deployment sheath for P'kal?

Is anybody making a Kydex deployment sheath for the P'kal? I'm thinking of something along the lines of Normark's Speed Dialer sheath for the waved Delica/Endura. Here's the link:

I'd like something belt mounted and maybe canted a bit.

My custom collaboration blades (pics)

Just thought I'd take a few snaps of my custom collaborations. All are users and get EDC rotated, some more than others. I've found the sheathed Perrin fits nicely in the CCW pocket of a Maxpedition Fatboy. I wrapped a little velcro around the sheath and it stick to the interior velcro.

There are ...

I'll second Warriors and Wonders. Jay is a great guy to deal with and has a pretty good selection of Spydercos with competitive pricing. I've bought quite a few from him over the last year. Percival, are you a member of BladesCanada? Are you located in Vancouver? Did you go to the meet/dinner last ...

I'll take a fully serrated one with a different lock (compression?) and harder steel. I'm undecided on the handle- perhaps a little upscale with carbon fibre?

The other day I forgot my GIN-1 Renegade outside over night and was surprised to see some rust spots on it the next morning. There were also some black spots from what I assume was tomato vine juice. I don't know much about GIN-1 but I did think it was more stainless than it is.

Well not quite but maybe one day it will be worth that much! Mine is an EDC and not a safe queen so it will never fetch silly money on Ebay.

Flat ground Chinook is out...

Does anybody have one? Care to post a few pics and a review? Thanks!!

A store up here in Canada has a few but I might wait and look for a used one in a few months.
