I have a Manix 2 with M4 blade and black G10. I bought it this way, I don't know what the story behind it is.

Looking through my Photobucket account, this seems to be the first blade swap I did, CPM-Cruwear into a fluted Ti Millie frame. This swap was smooth as butter, but I eventually moved that blade into my Cuscadi Micarta frame before it coming to rest in a Ti/G10 frame splinted together from 3 Millies total. The fluted Ti one now patiently awaits a S110V blade :D.

I've done dozens of blade swaps now, and the Millies are quite easy to do compared to other models (the bigger Japanese lockbacks are much trickier and finicky). I'd say the Millie swaps work 2/3 of the time, for the other third, the locks and blades just don't mate and engage properly. Fun thread, thanks for letting me share some pics :). Cheers, Radioactive :)

Got a scale custom machined for the Southard- in bronze- not anodized ally, but real heavyweight phosphor bronze- it weighs a tonne but really sets of the knife....got a bronze anodized clip on the way for the starboard side.
Warhammer 40000 is- basically- Lord Of The Rings on a cocktail of every drug known to man and genuine lunar dust, stuck in a blender with Alien, Mechwarrior, Dune, Starship Troopers, Fahrenheit 451 and Star Wars, bathed in blood, turned up to eleventy billion, set on fire, and catapulted off into space screaming "WAAAGH!" and waving a chainsaw sword- without the happy ending.

One black Emerson wave Delica got to close to my blue jeans Kahr Delica and they ended up scuffling for scales...

The Wave had a bigger blade I guess.

I know the story.

I want it. The end.

I wanted the perfect work knife so I put a combination edge blade on the glow handle. No more losing a knife in the dark and the combi blade is more useful with the various things I cut at work.

Did the same to my Manix 2, makes for a sharper, cleaner heel to the blade, but occasionally stuff gets caught in the notch when I plunge cut with it.

My tried and true Cuscadi Micarta Millie (picked up long before I met Steve Ketchen ;)). This is the third or fourth blade I swapped into this frame and I think this one is the keeper! Micarta is an amazing handle material and such a pleasure to hold. Cheers, Radioactive :)

Nice did you do it yourself! I have some teak leftover from a job. I have been tossing around trying to make some scales if I ever get time.

This is what I think of as semi Franken.

Tip was broke so it was repaired by Spyderco and the black scales came off to be replaced with some camo pattern. A little black and green RIT dye darkened them up nicely if I do say so.

All the work was done by the folks at Spyderco and RS.

In case you was wondering, yes it is 440V and yes it is a user.

That's one heck of a knife there Harley! I'm glad you're liking it. I was really impressed how well Spyderco recovered the completely ground down tip and several broken teeth. We lost about a 1/4" in blade length, but it was well worth it! May it serve you well for years to come! Cheers, Radioactive :)

I am very happy with it and use it hard everyday. Carry it in my FLP along side whatever PE blade I have that day. Find myself reaching for it so much I may just move it to my RFP and make it the go to.

Etsy wood scales that needed some work, but the rest was me :)

I switched the blade of the leaf Urban to the orange handle of the wharncliffe version. Fun fact, it was presented with this handle option as a prototype.

Those fabulous pics are a major reason I own so many Spydies, as well as a large handful of SAKs to match them color-wise (I really wish I hadn't seen his coordinated Ladybug/Jester and SAK combos!). The annual release of his Amsterdam Meet pics serve pretty much as a second Christmas for many of us! Cheers, Radioactive :)
