Some municipalities have more specific laws than the state, too. For example, Redmond WA specifically names balisongs as a banned style of knife (though the ordinance does not actually define the term).

I would expect the WA state law quoted would make balis illegal, but then I would expect it ...

Yes, the new site is a definite improvement.

What's the state of the dealer search? The old dealer search seemed to have a lot of out-of-date information. The new one seems to have been very much cleaned out, to the point where it's missing some places that sell Spydercos locally, including a ...

I'm always amazed of how many models gets scratched every year from the Spyderco line-up. I know we all love that company very dearly and I hate to complain but if I had one thing I'd like to see changed would be a shorter list, if any, discontinued models.... I know it's important to keep design ...

I'm very interested in both the Manix and the Kopa. I'm also considering the Paramilitary or the Military (although I typically get smaller knives, I might make an exception in this case).

A 'fly would be neat, but I don't think they're legal in my state.

Isn't the Lil Temp getting cut ...

This is gonna sound familiar:

Length 3" (Delica)

General purpose: opening boxes and packaging, cutting string, home work use like cutting up boxes or a piece of rope, and poking air holes in plastic coffee cup lids. Also, a few times I've trimmed a leather belt with a removable buckle as I've lost ...

Thanks. Elma is a bit of a drive away from me, but I might give it a try some weekend. Should be no trouble finding it, was able to find an address and map online.

Seattle dealers / updating the dealer list

Can anyone recommend a good Spyderco dealer in the Seattle/King County area? One that carries more than the basic models?

The dealer list on the Spyderco website appears to be rather out of date. Of the first 15 businesses listed in the database, there are at least two or three businesses that ...

I'm carrying my SE CF Delica most of the time. It's holding up just fine... though I do switch to one of my older FRN Delicas or a Native III sometimes.

I think the new Delicas are VG-10 now, at least my carbon fiber knife is.

Of course since I have a couple Delicas already I'd be tempted to go Scorpius just for variety.

All currently accounted for. My theory is that the knives decide its time for a new buddy at some point and start hiding.

I've noticed that the metal clips on my FRN Delicas do tend to get a bit loose and start to fall out of pockets. One had about a 1mm gap between handle and clip, so I removed it ...

Since I'm most likely to be carrying a Delica (CF SE), that's what I'm going to go with.

I'm curious what you think of the SOG Flash. Although the assist is neat, it seems like the safety lock is something you could potentially miss if you're trying to get the knife open in a hurry.

How To Find A Lost Knife

This is sort of spooky... every time a new knife order shows up, I find an old knife I lost. Yesterday my new Lil Temperance was delivered, and just this morning I find one of my old Delicas on the floor in my car. Which I must have searched three or four times already looking for it. Which happened ...

I'm considering:

Native 3 (as a general-use knife for chores, so I don't work the EDC as much)
Kiwi (fancy!)
Lil Temperance (leaf blade - I like the knife's looks, but I don't really have a good reason to buy it.)
Salt (for boating/kayaking)

Fortunately or unfortunately, I can't quite buy a knife ...

This Morning's Delivery

UPS Ground finally managed to find my house today, delivering my new CF SE Delica and my Sharpmaker 204 from bestknives.com. Happiness! I really like the CF knife.

The serrations on the new blade seem deeper/longer than on my old Delica (with ATS-55 steel). I'm wondering if the new blades are ...

Thanks for all the suggestions. This knife does have a washer on the screw, and the washer is opposite the clip. I think I got it around '98, but I'm not precisely sure.

I did notice that the clip appeared to slightly bent outwards - that is, the free end of the clip didn't contact the handle. I ...
