That is a beautiful knife. One should be so fortunate as to hold a piece of history like that in the palm of their hand. Looks like a true "pioneer" knife. Nothing like it at all w-a-y back in 1981! And Sal continues to produce fantastic knives such as my HAP Delica.

On another forum that sells knives, (bf), someone is/was selling a user Ladybug in H1 steel. They wrote and I quote, "I carried it multiple times in the ocean as back-up. The "1" on the H1 marking has rusted a little bit, which is normal with the salts."

Try using Jasco professional strength epoxy and paint remover.
Also, not a bad video on polishing (or satin finish) the clip once stripped.

This first one above, is indeed an early Spyderco fold-a-vee with a very nice leather pouch. Mine has more of a suede pouch with it.

I find myself buying used knives if they are the ones I want to carry. If I buy a new one for a carry knife I always feel a little bummed out when the blade gets a scratch or the finish gets worn. If I buy a used one they usually already have some cosmetic flaw. I know this is a little weird ...
