Re: Taking apart knives - part 2

https://i.imgur.com/LhgQrtt.jpg I bought this used from the pawnshop yesterday at a huge discount...($65 US) I have to say it's not a knife I would never have bought new for the $200+ original price, or the $132 current price all because of the pins/rivets!!!! I know S110V is a premium steel but ag...

Re: Red G10 Para 3 M390

Got this beauty in. Fit and finish are perfect. This is my first Para3 so I love how it very closely resembles my beloved Para2, just in a smaller package. Also love this steel. This would absolutely take over a significant amount of carry time, but a few issues will likely result in me passing this...

Re: Red G10 Para 3 M390

Never really understood why people continuously cry about the secondary market. It has existed and will exist in every single product and market where there is more demand than supply. There was PLENTY of time for anyone to log on and buy one of these knives. Trust me, an entire HALF HOUR is an eter...

Re: Questionable tag lines & shiny footprints

Yes I think there was just a difference in how the term "negative" was interpreted in that post. Having researched the history a bit more of what spawned this thread, it makes a little more sense. Thanks for clarifying.

Re: Questionable tag lines & shiny footprints

I'm not sure where you got the quote from Sal that you used above, so taken out of context, I might be misinterpreting it. The quote I posted was taken verbatim from a post only one month old, right in this very thread, about a dozen posts above this one. Just scroll your browser back half a page a...

Re: Questionable tag lines & shiny footprints

If Spyderco was censoring our bad feedback about their models I would see it as a shell of a forum. Just a pathetic attempt of self-promotion. On the contrary, they take feedback and criticism very seriously and urge people to give it. The management strongly believes against a "shill culture". In ...

Re: Questionable tag lines & shiny footprints

It's simply call for professional courtesy. There are plenty of places to bash makers for arbitrary reasons; look at Amazon for example. There are great things that come from a "gentle" community and certainly a lack of them on the internet. Why try to make every community the same? The amount of c...

Re: Questionable tag lines & shiny footprints

I think that Spyderco should probably not host their own forum. When you start restricting what people can say or do, then you create a filtered environment which does not paint a picture of reality but rather some fantasy utopia. Why would anyone want to restrict people is such a manner, especially...

The Bradley is a tank of a folder and the M4 is pretty tough stuff, gets my vote.

Re: Just got a call back about my broken clip

This thread was not even started by Molle and has nothing to do with whatever their issue is. Poor form to overrun someone else's thread with a completely unrelated customer service issue.

Re: Pass around of my Spyderco C160 Foundry!

No offense, but just not really seeing the point of this pass around. First off nobody can really carry the knife, sharpen, or cut much of anything with it. So what's left to do, just to hold it in your hands I guess? Second, it's such a limited production, that it likely won't be available to the g...

I don't understand the practicality of a spine whack test. I don't know what someone would be doing with a knife using that particular motion. I wouldn't trust any folding knife to hold up to spine whacks, nor would I ever attempt that motion or be holding the knife blade-up using a hammering motion...

Reducing the washer thickness should increase side to side play. :) I think it had more to do with the washers being slightly bubbled up on the inside edge of the hole, so the sanding was done to remove the lip and make them flat again. It sounds like this was just an isolated case where very few w...

Ahh ok. I thought I had seen a video or read an article that described sanding down the washers or something similar to eliminate side to side play on a PM2, but that may have been more of an isolated case.

Paramilitary 2 design changes?

I bought a digi-cam PM2 with polished S30v blade shortly after they came out, and it has always been quite smooth in operation. I recently picked up another brand new one of the same exact style, and I notice a couple differences. 1) There is less side to side blade play when the knife is closed tha...

I think this could be an excellent way to do an upcoming Mule team. We all know that the Maxamet mule team is going to be hotter then any mule team before it so why not solve the problem with flippers and do some good at the same time. Here is my idea. Spyderco will have a fixed cost into the Maxam...

I concur, I'd snag an M4 Para2 in a heartbeat if one became available. I love the Gayle Bradley but it's quite beefy and weighty.

Any Para2 in XHP coming up?

Seems like this metal is gaining in popularity quickly (understandably so), and I'm hoping a regular production version of the Para2 will be available with CTS-XHP in the near future. So far all I've found are sprint releases. Any luck on this?

I don't think it's necessary to post every single issue or problem, that was not the point of this thread, which is to provide model info and availability on their current products. Any problems or issues can be handled with Halpern directly, just as you would any other business. Please don't clutte...
