Re: Manix 2 rex45 g10 model

Hey Alex, the Manix is a bit of a wide knife...but it is also a pretty thin knife. I know you're a big fan of the Military. I'll take a couple photos of them together for comparison and post them up for you tomorrow morning. Different strokes for different folks, but of my 20 Spyderco knives I have...

Re: ZDP for EDC questions

I bought this ZDP Caly 3 second hand years ago, and I’ve carried it a lot. Last week it went through a complete hour long washing machine cycle with no signs of corrosion afterwards... I was a bit surprised to be honest. I’m guessing that perhaps the ZDP heat treatment for laminated blades results i...

Re: Your iwb carry.

What works for me in general to carry at 1 o’clock position: - 3 inch or less blade length, if longer the handle becomes too long and uncomfortable - deep carry clip - lockback or similar lock with good self close - relatively stainless - thin, smooth handles, i.e. ti or smooth G10 I carry these oft...

3-in-1 oil works for me. :)

I find the PITS to be very easy to care for. It is very stainless and the action is very smooth. Sharpens easily too.

Re: Cruwear Collection

I have a PM2, Manix, and Native in Cruwear

I replaced the light grey scales on the Manix, and also removed the liner jimping at the same time. I’m not a fan of dye jobs in general.

Black is good for my EDC, blue liners makes it slightly less boring... ;) I like the all black hardware!

You can always tie an orange lanyard for visibility.

Re: CPM SPY27 steel

I gave my analysis of the new steel here: https://knifesteelnerds.com/2020/01/15/spyderco-exclusive-cpm-spy27-steel-analysis/ Well that was fast! :) Thanks for the detailed preliminary breakdown of the steel Larrin. This has to be the fastest I've ever written an article. There are probably a zilli...

Re: I Don't Get The "Spydie-Flick."

The Spydie-flick is my favourite way to open knives like the Military, Manix, PM2, Shaman etc. :)

Back locks, slip-joints and Tuff = nope.

My vote is for a UKPK in a nice steel.

Made in Golden Co
Affordable
Decent size to carry
Legal in many areas

I agree with a small logo.
Make it in G10 or Carbon Fiber UKPK and I’m in.
Agree, the red HH G10 one I have is really nice.

Re: Change in price of Spydercos in 2020?

Realistically speaking my medium sized collection should easily last me a lifetime. Combine this with the prices increases, and it becomes really difficult to justify new purchases, especially in the $150+ price ranges. The effect of this is that I will continue to reduce new purchases, focus on low...

Re: What is your Last Spydie of the year before price hikes in 2020?

Got a backup Cruwear Native, because the one I have is simply excellent.

I cannot believe they are still available for the same price as a stock standard S30V version. KC seems to be late with their increases... :)
