Can't you just use Bar Keeper's Friend to scrub the rods to clean them up?

I have a Sage 1 in S30V. I bought it used on the secondary market. Stick with what you have. I am not sure there is much difference.

When the GB1 first came out they had solid liners. The later ones had skelontized liners. The solid liners obviously had more weight but both have a hefty weight to them. Your idea is interesting. What kind of money would it take to do that and I expect it would be someone more senior in life and do you want to take that kind of risk later in life?

To be an entrepreneur you have to have vision and the willing to risk and is that the industry to get into.

The GB1 is a great knife.

I can't believe this answer did not come up sooner, but I am afraid you will have to get both.

I got into ZDP-189 and liked it but have not seen much of it used lately. Good to know it is still being used by Spyderco. My favorite Stretch 2 is a ZDP-189 knife.

I agree the Stretch 2 is a great all around knife.

The Swayback came in a padded case.

The knives I really like I usually have a couple. One gets used and the other is a backup or to keep nice, if I choose.

We HAD a granite cutting board in the house until my wife told me about it.



Hopefully it's still around. It would make a great improvised surface plate... assuming it's not too hacked up from using it as a cutting board.
