No need to win the lottery. I love my Native lightweight black blade (C41BBk). It's serrated, has a steel clip and is crafted right here in Golden.

Thanks for the video Mr. Blonde, brought back memories of our visit to SFSW this time last year. The Wirtel's were nice folks, though they forced me to buy my first non spydie - a Brontosaurus bone lockback.

The only published list I've ever seen is page 163 of The Spyderco Story . It is a copy of an ad Spyderco placed in a knife-industry trade magazine, some time ago, to thank the manufacturers and custom knifemakers that honored their patents. The list is a venerable who's who of most of the great ...

When the slots in my base became too enlarged, I added a small piece of plastic tape to one of the flats on each stone. This helped tighten up the fit between the stone and the base and eliminated most of the "wooble".

The last time I visited SFO, I inquired about purchasing a base, but was told ...

If you're in need of a Sage 1 immediately and anywhere near Golden, CO. the SFO store had them in the showroom a couple of days ago.

Over time, mine has also broken in enough to release fairly easily using just my thumb. But it's much more difficult to do with gloves on.

Gin-1 and 8Cr13Mov are quite comparable though I'd give the Gin-1 a slight edge. My first Spydie was a Hunter in Gin-1, that I've used for 15 years or so. The blade has held up extremely well considering it is an inexpensive Japanese steel. So far the Chinese 8Cr13Mov steel on my Persistence and ...

What size allen did you use for the clip? For both my Ambitious and Persistence a 1/16" hex seemed to fit the best (1.5mm is a tad too small if the screw is tight). A 5/64" hex works for the pivot. As stated in an earlier post, nothing seems to fit quite right.

Cesar, I think you made an excellent purchase - I love my Manix 2. It is my first choice when I need a hard use workhorse. Though I've never used mine for self defense, I have complete confidence in the ball bearing lock and have found it to be bullet proof. Far superior to my liner or back locks ...

The "JT" is not part of Sypderco's regular identifying code. More than likely a knife vendor added the letters for their own purposes.

Great idea! This looks far superior to my current setup - using an old belt clamped in my vise by the buckle.

You might also try "SpydercoSource.com". I've found this site to be useful when seeking data on various Spyderco models in the past. Just search under Delica C-11.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with the pinned construction. My Native was so well built by the craftsmen in Golden there's no need to fiddle with the pivot. The design is classic - great for both light and heavy duty tasks. But, if the non-adjustable pivot is a deal breaker you can always ...

Not Sal, but the only site I've seen with pricing info so far is Howes Knife Shop. They're showing an MSRP of $174.95 and are taking pre-orders for $110.22 shipped. This is shaping up to be another home run for Spyderco. I'm anxiously awaiting this release.

Based on recommendations from members on this forum I purchased a Kobalt 8-in-1 precision Torx head screwdriver from my local Lowes for less than six bucks. It has worked great on all my Spydies using Torx screws and provides a convenient place to safely store all the bits.

Both my Ambitious and Persistence use the following hex wrench sizes:

1/16" for the clip
5/64" for the pivot
1.5mm for the scales

They don't fit as tight as I would like, but are the closest I could find.
