Not really from my testing of a lot of different steels, a coarser edge will hold that edge a lot longer, usually around 50% or more depending on the steel and edge finishes.

The lower alloy steels die quickly (Lose Bite) with a polished edge compared to a coarser edge from my testing ...

I owned, lost, (and loved) a SpyderHawk some years ago but now that I look for a replacement it's unavailable.

How does the new series compare to the old one? What alternatives do I have?

I used to cut branches, cord, even baling wire with the 2003 -- even used full swings to chop! I abused that ...

Need help indenifying Mystery tool.

I bought these from an estate of a world war 2 veteran, the family said he used it during the war.I wonder if there are any world war 2 buffs here that can help me identify this tool and perhaps tell me what it was used for? Thanks for any help.

Sharpening question?

Now I know knife sharpening proceeds in several stages, in order from coarsest (most destructive) to finest (most delicate) rods or stones whichever you might choose. Can I cut out all those steps, and just use my diamond rod to sharpen the knife and just go ahead, strop the knife, and achieve the ...

Well, looks like your Spydie bit you, now its yours forever. :D

All of your knives that you truly like will bite you, so watch out, they are tools, but they are dangerous. Hope it doesn't hurt too much.

Jordan, EXTREMELY well put and my thoughts exactly.

I have had my CCW (and exercised that right) since the mid-90's and would much rather have the weapon and not need it than the opposite. Bad people are everywhere and bad things happen all the time. The good people in law enforcement are just ...

Funny you should say that. I was touching up the 3 M2s tonight - 154CM, S90V and CTS-XHP. To my hand, the XHP sharpened up like the 154CM, even though it cuts like the S90V. I was really impressed. I'd be interested to hear what others find.

I'd also be interested to hear about where it is on the ...
