Re: Who's playing pickleball?
Your heart rate looks excellent.
I should be OK. My doctors monitor me all year and if I call them they take me in immediately. They had me running on a treadmill less than a month after a 3-way bypass and new aortic valve. I also have cardiomyopathy and heart failure.
Every day is a blessing ...

Fitness Trackers
Does anybody wear fitness trackers? I started my fitness journey(after more than a few years of being sedentary) this
year and I had to watch that my heart rate wasn't getting too high so a fitness tracker looked like a good investment.

Re: Who's playing pickleball?
Fantastic! I need this.
I have cardiovascular issues, made it through open heart surgery in 2017. I also suffer from depression, and that is a whole nother thread. I'll give it a try.
It's worth asking your doctor before starting. Please do a little research as to what warm up exercises to do ...

Re: Who's playing pickleball?
I'm going to be 60 early next year and have been sedentary for a few years. I started playing pickleball in January. I could barely play 2 games. After a couple of months of playing every day, I started walking 5km a day, then running that same distance. Then I started swimming. I got a fitness ...

Re: Checking in
Tell me about it. When I was still there, I had to cough up $200-400 of customs fees when buying my cameras from Adorama and B&H and shipping via Fedex or UPS. Definitely a hefty amount. The total cost was still cheaper compared to buying from the local market, but I was not a happy camper.
Did ...

Re: Checking in
@chuck_roxas45 I would send you a knife but I have friends in the PI and every time that I send them something I have to send them cash to pay for the "inspections" before they can get their packages.
The PI has a stiff duty tax and they inspect everything shipped in.
@chuck_roxas45 you can PM ...

Re: Checking in
I have a Caribbean SE Leaf. It’s a great knife but heavy. It would not be my choice for a swimming knife for that reason and also because Compression lock knives can come open too easily. Not as safe IWB as a back lock, in my opinion. Also, the LC200N is highly resistant to corrosion but the H2 ...

Re: Who's playing pickleball?
My wife wanted a pickeball set for Xmas, so...looks like I'll be playing soon.
Don't know anything about it. Is it like tennis or ping pong? Can it be played on a lawn?
Hehehe. When the wife wants... :D
It's like tennis and pingpong had a love child. I actually didn't think that it would be ...

“Very nice place. Been there a few years back. I was often at Sipalay, just a few hours' drive away from you.“
Several years ago I was in the area. Really nice place. We ended up on the west side in Kabankalan and then Bacolod. Now I’m where my name says.
Bohol is just a couple of hours away ...

Re: Checking in
Sal and Chuck, what are your thoughts on a Filipino Ethnic Series based on the Bolo, and others? The Balisongs and Janisong are already made, though.
Hi SEF, actually Spyderco already did the Barong many years back. It was designed by Ed Schempp. Although not technically a Bolo per se, the ...

Re: Checking in
Hi Chuck,
Welcome back! It’s been awhile. A Pacific Salt or Stretch 2 XL Salt in serrated would suit your needs very well. Utterly rustproof, they are lightweight and excellent matter separators.
Thanks for the welcome. Being somewhat of a steel snob before, I turned my nose up at the H1 but ...

Who's playing pickleball?
I've been playing pickleball for almost a year now. I try to get in a few games daily.
Anybody else play pickleball?

Re: Checking in
Hi Chuck, the OG forumite from the islands! I remember way back when I was only a lurker and you were still active in the boards haha. Nice to see another OG back here.
That corrosion for 5 months of saltwater exposure actually isn't so bad at all. From what I can see most of the rust are in the ...

Welcome back Chuck! That Endura looks fantasic give the exposure. 👍
Sorry to hear about the Spydie collection, I remember you had a quite a few. Life has a way to throw those nasty curveballs...
Thanks Brock, I never thought this endura would survive five months of ocean immersion with minimal ...

Re: Checking in
Happy holidays, chuck_roxas45!
It's funny that I live just an hour or so from open water in Luzon, but I don't visit the beach that often. I guess life does have a way of keeping one busy.
I actually live 10 minutes away from the sea but I like to swim at a spot farther away. Yes, life does ...

Re: Checking in
Howdy Chuck_Roxas45. Good to see a familiar poster here. I was also MIA from the forum for a few years.
That Endura is holding up well. Is that VG-10? I have a Delica with that steel that sat for 7 years in the same tropical climate as you. No rust at all.
Take care.
Yep, VG-10. Never had ...
