Re: I'm going over to Buck

Not really a "prepper" myself (aside form always having a good knife ;) ) I meant what I said by no offense intended. My sincerest apologies for triggering you Chuck (even though I clearly wasn't talking to you), I hope you manage to get over it eventually. There is an ignore feature you know, mayb...

Re: I'm going over to Buck

:p I had to laugh a little at this. I couldn't help envisioning you surrounded by pallets of supplies trying to figure out how you're going to open all the packaging. I'm sure you could claw away at that plastic with your fingernails just fine, it just struck me as funny, no offense intended. https...

Re: Amazing what some things cost

I guess there's a bubble growing in the rich mall ninja market. Drug profits are up ? Hhhmm, there's some truth to that. Well, at least here in the Philippines. After a year or so of a seriously waged drug war, I hear a lot of small businesses saying that business is down. Businesses like salons, s...

Re: P’kal vs. Yojimbo 2

The two knives are designed for different styles of fighting. The Yo2 was designed with Michael Janich's Martial Blade Concept. The p'kal was designed for a Reverse Grip Edge In style. If you are comfortable with any of those styles, choose accordingly.

Nobody is trying to win an argument against you. You asked a question about others' preference and it's been answered numerous times. You are free to disagree but you're probably going to have a hard time convincing them(well...us).

What about those CF S90V sprints? I'm guessing those aren't too easy to find too.

Re: Where Spyderco Knives Fall Short

If this mattered, there would be more market for knives that have a blade that is longer than the handle. What was that one weird knife that did that? Sometimes I do wonder why, with a knife that has a handle big enough to fit your whole hand, why do we need to use up part of the edge for an option...

Re: The New Military 2!

Using the whole, "if my son was a soldier what knife would i want him to have" blah blah blah, i would appreciate a little more robust design and would be willing to sacrifice a couple of ounces for additional strength. I'd rather have a slightly heavier tool that works than a lighter one that is b...

Ask spyderedge how we do it. It's just mind projection and our bodies remain where we are. ;)

Re: Where Spyderco Knives Fall Short

Maybe the edge to length ratio that spyderco has is what makes the other companies fall short for me.

Anyway, as I mentioned in the other planet, edge length to weight ratio is more important to me.

Re: The New Military 2!

The Military is meant to be "a high performance lightweight folder designed for hard use". Is that the "hype" you are referring to? There is a saying in the Military, "Ounces equal pounds and pounds equal pain." Weight is an important design criteria of this model. The Military is a performance kni...

I just can't bring myself to buy the Military with all of its deficiencies. Sal, don't you think it's time for a Military 2? The deficiencies for you are the pluses for me. Except for maybe the clip placement options, your suggestions merely dumb down the current millie for my purposes. Maybe get a...

Re: Best steel for sharp edges

Any steel can be made as sharp as any other with the right tools. Sharpness being defined as width of apex. The differences will be how fast(easy) it will be to get there. Second difference is the kind of edge you will have. Aggressiveness is often used to describe this quality. For example comparin...
