I've just bumbled along & found this thread, which reminded me of something I mocked up in wood a couple of years back. The steel got cut out & then things got in the way. (Sal's seen it before.)

I bought one as soon as they came out. Kinda disappointed with this one. Fit and finish is as I expect from Spyderco products, however the the lock-up is very weak. Easy!

Divide your knives into 2 sets. Ensure that you have your "essential" options in one set & use the otehr set for your decorative / klingon death blades ...

Could Nok make you a wooden version to refine your idea before you try it in steel? You'd be pretty clear about the tip & blade thickness issues & if it's a viable knife then you'd have a trainer to play with while the steel one is made :)

FRN is less expensive, albiet not as elegant as Micarta or G-10. I think we could pull off a short run of 500-600 pcs. you'll need to come to some sort of concensus on what would interest you.
