I agree with several of the posts above.
Spyderco has become an old, meaning well-established, company with a solid history as an industry leader. It's hard to take anyone who says that somehow overnight, or over the course of a year or two, things have somehow changed, especially when so much has ...

Re: Do Chemically Treated Towles/Rags Exist to Wipe Off Rust?
Does this exist? No. Your best bet for really light rust is bronze wool and a good CLP product. It won't deal with (1) staining or (2) surface pitting, but it also won't usually remove bluing and it's less likely to change the visual appearance of bare metal. If you have some scaling, you can try ...

And a solid lock! I think the lock itself is about as close to bomb-proof as you'll find on a folder and IMHO one of the easiest to use, though that's an opinion rather than a fact. Wearing out the scales first more or less proves the point.

Re: Spyderco Angle Gauge
Blade HQ offers several versions of the Dog Tag one by Audacious Concept. Looks like the blue Ti is the only one available I've had the BHQ version in my toolbox for a few years. It's not something I use a lot but it's come in handy a few times

Re: Para 3 LW 15V - 3 disappointments, or unrealistic expectations?
So...here's a little anecdote about lock stick that's pretty wild and definitely went against the grain for me. Some folder with a compression lock that I purchased recently - might have been a Shaman (what a great knife!) - had an annoyingly sticky lock. I don't think it was the 15V P3LW because I ...

Re: Para 3 LW 15V - 3 disappointments, or unrealistic expectations?
I hesitate to mention this because this is only the second Spyderco knife I've purchased that had any obvious issues in more than 30 years, and I don't want anyone (especially BBB) to feel like anyone should feel badly or think anything needs to be done about this.

I accidentally purchased a 4V Manix 2 XL (it's ok to roll your eyes) and goodness, that is one big folder! Wen I unboxed it I wondered whether anyone was selling an aftermarket wheels kit. :o

Re: Sprint Run Availability
I had noticed the same with the 15V knives and wondered if it was due to the large number of different models that have been and will be available. Someone who really wants a Native isn't going to feel like they have to choose between a Para3 LW and no knife at all. But Enactive could be right, too ...

Re: Spyderco Angle Gauge
This may sound like I'm dissing the Spyderco angle gauge, which is not at all my intent here. I own one, I enjoy having it around and occasionally using it, but in real life it doesn't really solve any problems that I can't solve better in some other way.

Re: Screw Sizes / please post if you have them !
Para3 Lightweight stop pin screws:
T6 button head x 2-56 thread, which is the same as the clip screws for many US-made folders. The clip screws are a little longer than the P3LW stop pin screws but if you're replacing only one it shouldn't need to be shortened.

Re: Please Tell Me About 15V
They made more of them than before.
And a good thing it is. I used to (like 20-30 years ago) buy a lot of sprints and it could be a bit of a crapshoot. The only sprints I've bought in recent years are your 15V sprint collabs and it's nice to be able to get my hands on one without worrying about ...

400grit cBN with a 1um diamond strop finish.
That's what I prefer for this BBB CPM 15V, keeps a nice bite at the edge without over polishing.
Appreciate the concise and authoritative advice, Shawn.

Re: CPM S90V. My favorite steel.
I dug out my mini-collection of Lil' Natives last weekend and noticed that I have the CruWear, 15V and S90V versions. I considered that an entirely satisfactory collection of super-steel blades. My point is that I agree with you that, even after all these years and all sorts of R&D and lots of ...

Re: Whatever happened to BG42?
I have three Sebenzas with BG-42 blades (large and small Regular; large Classic 2000). As a subjective impression because I've never done any sort of comparative testing, these CRK BG-42 blades, which I think I remember were advertised as 62 on the Rockwell C scale, will hold an edge for an almost ...
