Not long ago, I bought a Temperance PE sprint run with gray FRN and CruWear blade. I like it a lot. The CruWear is great. It doesn't hold an edge anywhere near as long as 15V would, but it's pretty easy to sharpen and is very tough. In fact, the SE version of it is in the mail.

Next up? A Temperance sprint run, Cruwear blade and Spyderedge.

Okay, I had intended to call the Spyderco office this morning, but work got in my way. I then planned to try again tomorrow morning, but I just received notification that the Boltaron sheath was back in stock. I ordered one immediately. To anyone else who wants one:

Thanks for the heads up. I checked again, but I still can’t find the standard Boltaron sheath. But the sheath for the straight spine Mule was still available.

Hey Josh,

You might try calling the store. We're always making them and it's possible that the "sold out" wasn't correct. We make them in-house in the sheath department.

I understood the limited quantities and quick sellout of most Mule Team blades. I was just surprised how quickly the Boltaron sheath sold out.

I only learned about Mules ...

Well, that surprised me.

Yesterday I received notification that Boltaron sheaths were again available. Last night I put one in the cart, but didn't have my credit card handy. I went to pay this morning, but it was too late. Sold out.

Next time I'll have to strike a bit more quickly. I just didn't ...

Same move I made with the Manix 2 LW in 15V. Bought two, one to beat on and one to save. Universal knife guy logic.

It makes sense, provided you can afford it. I’ve done it with a couple others as well:
Chaparral SE and Kapara S90V.

I have one of the gray-handled, sprint run models in Cruwear. Great steel, great knife.

I picked up a Native 5 LW 15V. Looked it over and decided it would be worthwhile using. So I bought a backup to put away.

I have four Byrds:
Robin 2 and Hawkbill (8Cr), and Crow 2 and Raven 2 (BD1).
I've never had an issue with the BD1 Byrds. My Hawkbill is used gardening, and I clean the knife after every use. No problems at all; it just works great.

I have a K294 Mule I’ll be comparing the PE MagnaMax to. And I have a K390 LeafJumper SE I’ll be comparing to the SE Mule.

Yeah. The SEs aren’t the same size, blade shape, or anything else. But it’s what I have.

I need my bank account to recover from excessive buying in the past two months. But a LNLW is on top of my list. About the time I’m ready to buy, the SE version should be available.
