Re: Sage 6 opened in pocket and bit me good :)
Just dropping a note that my Sage 6 bit my thumb good today. Put my hand in my front right jean pocket to grab my reading glasses and the blade was open. This is my typical setup, phone in front left and knife+readers in front right. Can honestly say this is a first time for me in many years of ...

Re: Temperance 2... in 15v?
Not long ago, I bought a Temperance PE sprint run with gray FRN and CruWear blade. I like it a lot. The CruWear is great. It doesn't hold an edge anywhere near as long as 15V would, but it's pretty easy to sharpen and is very tough. In fact, the SE version of it is in the mail.

Re: Mule Team Boltaron Sheath
Okay, I had intended to call the Spyderco office this morning, but work got in my way. I then planned to try again tomorrow morning, but I just received notification that the Boltaron sheath was back in stock. I ordered one immediately. To anyone else who wants one:

@PM2Josh
Thanks for the heads up. I checked again, but I still can’t find the standard Boltaron sheath. But the sheath for the straight spine Mule was still available.

Re: Mule Team Boltaron Sheath
As I don't have the time or patience to deal with unavailable sheath and scales due to scalpers. And very limited quantities
I understood the limited quantities and quick sellout of most Mule Team blades. I was just surprised how quickly the Boltaron sheath sold out.
I only learned about Mules ...

Mule Team Boltaron Sheath
Well, that surprised me.
Yesterday I received notification that Boltaron sheaths were again available. Last night I put one in the cart, but didn't have my credit card handy. I went to pay this morning, but it was too late. Sold out.

It makes sense, provided you can afford it. I’ve done it with a couple others as well:MOPs_Overlord wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 9:35 amSame move I made with the Manix 2 LW in 15V. Bought two, one to beat on and one to save. Universal knife guy logic.
Chaparral SE and Kapara S90V.

I have one of the gray-handled, sprint run models in Cruwear. Great steel, great knife.

I picked up a Native 5 LW 15V. Looked it over and decided it would be worthwhile using. So I bought a backup to put away.

Re: Byrd Rust Resistance?
I have four Byrds:
Robin 2 and Hawkbill (8Cr), and Crow 2 and Raven 2 (BD1).
I've never had an issue with the BD1 Byrds. My Hawkbill is used gardening, and I clean the knife after every use. No problems at all; it just works great.

Re: Out of stock on purpose
“Out of stock on purpose” is an interesting premise, but it isn’t supported by facts. There’ve been many good points, but I’ll reiterate one and bring up another:
When Spyderco does not want to discount a knife, they don’t. It’s that simple. Example: the recent 15V sprint runs. There is no ...

Hi Actinolite,
All of the serrations will perform better after they've been sharpened on a Sharpmaker.

Sal,
So far, my SE sharpening technique has resulted in my Chaparral cutting almost as well as the factory edge. It’s good to know that with more practice on my part, the Spyderedge can ...

Re: MagnaMax Mule Ordered
I have a K294 Mule I’ll be comparing the PE MagnaMax to. And I have a K390 LeafJumper SE I’ll be comparing to the SE Mule.
Yeah. The SEs aren’t the same size, blade shape, or anything else. But it’s what I have.

I need my bank account to recover from excessive buying in the past two months. But a LNLW is on top of my list. About the time I’m ready to buy, the SE version should be available.

Re: Lost Knife, Almost Always a Favorite
Last week, I received my Native 5 LW SPY27 replacement. Just as nice as the first one. I then received a Native 5 LW CPM 15V. That made two Native 5s.
And then, of course, the original just showed up. It turns out my “lost” Native 5 had become wedged between a seat runner and the transmission hump ...

Ordered, and sold out. I wonder if there will be a second run, or if instead we’ll just start seeing MagnaMax production models.
