Re: Police 2 SS blade shrinking!!!
I will 100% keep it. Spyderco did get back to me on this, and they did offer a discount on a new knife. I've always liked their customer service a lot. My thoughts were on buying a brand-new Police SS SE. I want to try the newer take on the Police SS model, with what looks to be like some jimping on ...

Re: Police 2 SE Aluminum handles
Thanks for all that, RustyIron. I honestly would have had no idea how to get started. If I end up keeping the knife, I think I will give it a go.

Re: Police 2 SS blade shrinking!!!
I'm a life-long customer RustyIron. I was just surprised at how much had to be done to it this time around. It seemed a little aggressive on the sharpening.
Righty-o, Rubes.
I've never had Spyderco sharpen any of my knives, but if one of my serrated blades gets goofed up worse than I can ...

RustyIron, I may do that. What would you recommend for a polish wheel and compound?

Re: Police 2 SE Aluminum handles
Thanks for the input yablanowitz. I may end up keeping this one around. I tend to like using my knives more than just collecting them, but I appreciate the feedback. If anything, it is pretty lightweight in the basketball shorts when I'm carrying it around the house / yard / etc.

Police 2 SE Aluminum handles
Wondering if this older model I have is worth hanging onto? I do have it posted on eBay but I am double thinking it. How rare is this one? Markings of #0091 stamped in the blade as well, not sure what that indicates though. Thoughts?

Re: Police 2 SS blade shrinking!!!
I had to check that knife out myself! Kinda cool looking. At this point, since my Police was laser etched for me, and holds sentimental value, is it much of a user edc knife anymore?

Re: Police 2 SS blade shrinking!!!
I know how sharpening a blade works, but I didn't think it would merit this much metal removal. This isn't my first knife. That being said, I wasn't after a new knife from Spyderco. At most, maybe a discount off a new one. I'm a life-long customer RustyIron. I was just surprised at how much had to ...

Re: Police 2 SS blade shrinking!!!
I suppose I should have taken pictures before. Yea this blade definitely has had some serious metal removed. I will get in touch with Spyderco. They should have record of the most recent sharpening and I have the paperwork as well. So, I'm not crazy in thinking that this most sharpening by them has ...

Re: Police 2 SS blade shrinking!!!
When I sent it in each time, the blade was useable. There were no chips at all. I just couldn't get the angle back on it so I gave up, and sent it in. Is this something I should get in touch with Spyderco about? It just recently came back to from this last sharpening, a couple weeks ago...

Re: Police 2 SS blade shrinking!!!
Nope this was a brand-new plain edge I got in 2017. I've sent it off to Spyderco 3 times since then. That much metal has been removed huh???!!!!

Police 2 SS blade shrinking!!!
Hey all,
So, I have sent my Police 2 SS PE back to Spyderco for sharpening. I think my blade is getting substantially smaller because of the process. Does it look WAY smaller to you all? Or am I just used to my bigger Police 4? Any input welcome here. Thanks!

Re: Police 3 G-10
Welcome HuFlungPu.
yablanowitz, I actually did some minor Police surgery last night. I swapped the Police 4 lightweight SE blade into the Police 4 G-10 scales. I like the feel of the G-10 Police 4, but I wanted that SE with those scales. I dig it so far. And of course, the PE blade went into the ...

If it was between a Police 4 K390 and the Police 4 VG-10, which way would you all lean? If you could keep one for EDC?

Re: Police 3 G-10
Very good points. I am just torn. I want to post it on eBay. I paid over $200 for it, and I am a collector, but I like to use them more than just have them sit around for me to look at and wonder about.

Re: Police 3 G-10
I really do like the blade shape on it. It is unique for sure. Not as much belly as the Police 4. I'll sleep on it. It is fun to carry.

Is the Police 3 worth hanging onto?
