Brand new member here. First post.

Is there some place that refurbishes these knives? I have 2 Police models (currently in storage). One is steel with no chamfering on the scales (marked Police), picked it up new I believe in the late 80's early 90's, and the other is an aluminum handled version that I don't really remember when I got it, other than I know it was before 2003 (when I moved to my current home). That aluminum version has a good bend to the handle that I'd like to get lovingly fixed. I think it bent from carrying it too much on duty 😁.
I also have a Worker (CLIPIT) with no chamfering, and IIRC a 3-screw clip. It has a partially serrated blade.

I carry my K390 serrated, my VG-10 PE gathers dust.

Welcome HuFlungPu.

yablanowitz, I actually did some minor Police surgery last night. I swapped the Police 4 lightweight SE blade into the Police 4 G-10 scales. I like the feel of the G-10 Police 4, but I wanted that SE with those scales. I dig it so far. And of course, the PE blade went into the lightweight FRN scales.

If it was between a Police 4 K390 and the Police 4 VG-10, which way would you all lean? If you could keep one for EDC?
vg10. corrosion resistance matters more than edge holding for my needs.
May you find peace in this life and the next.

It’s more Police-y than the PE.

It gets more Police-y when you add a swedge to the tip.
