Re: MT40 HIC

Burly,

Thanks for the response... I have gotten where it will shave hair easy enough with working up to the 3k grit diamond hone and alcohol bath. The alcohol really made the big difference for me.

It has been the most different thing I have ever tried to sharpen. Makes perfect sense to me you ...

Re: MT40 HIC

Well, I still have not been able to hone this HIC Mule to Razor. It isn't from the lack of seat time on the hones either.

I have the honed bevels on this Mule where you can see yourself in them lol. They are a true 19 dps profile, which may be some of the issue here with it only being just really ...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

V,
I like mine horizontal and right over the front left pocket, and if the belt loops allow it, just a little in front of the left pocket. If that makes any sense.

I had my HIC Mule with me to day and really gave it a what for to check it out. Still have never gotten it like a Razor, but it's ...

Re: Aftermarket Ti scales for the Sage 6?

AWT doesn't have Titanium scales but their Cerakote aluminum scales are killer. Fit perfect and the new aggressive texture is my favorite.

If the Sage 6 was just a little longer blade, like maybe XL version I would be all over it. But now you get the option for these AWT scales, does have me ...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

I have had these 3 Manix on me the last couple days now. While the Manix 2XL is my favorite size and all, there has been these two Manix 2's on me and other than them just a little short, these new aggressive AWT scales help make up the difference.

The two black blades are both M4 steel and the ...

Re: Jeb's pix and mods

Thanks Dan,

I didn't care for the mint color, and I like green lol. Just not that color of green, plus I don't really like the lightweight Manix2 that are without liners either.

So, these aggressive scales that AWT have are awesome. I even did some modifications to a slotted Titanium ball cage to ...

Re: Police4 K390 in the hot Summer.

Maybe we have the liners in the black coating you guys do on the blades? I like the feel of the knives with the liners.

The feel of the grip of the FRN with the rough texture is great in the paw. But I must say to have a salt version in the Police4 model but then to get the peel-ply-textured black ...

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

Just got this knife in and Modified with burnt bronze AWT - aggressive scales, a slotted Black Flytanium Titanium ball cage. Still need to profile the bevels to 15 dps and get them all nice and like the Razor I expect.

Here is a few pix for a looksee. One of my tail ropes and honing is up next ...

#43

Manix 2 Modified

Took the mint green frcp scales off and installed AWT burnt bronze aggressive scales in their place. I also removed the stock ball cage off and installed a slotted Black Flytanium Titanium ball cage in this knife.

Have not honed it at this point yet, but will get this ...
