#1

Post by Georgiadude »

Hello all, I am new to this forum and Spyverco knives. I already have a Manix 2 Lightweight in 15v and a Native 5 Lightweight in 15v as well. I am loving thses kinives and would love to find someone here in the US to replace the FRN scales and fit some variuos wood scales that I bought off Ebay.
Can anyone refer me to someone who does this.
Thanks

Hi Charlie,

Welcome to our forum. Glad you like the knives. We appreciate.

The gang that hangs here knows quite a it about customizing Spyderco's. They have knowledge and will share. Hope you enjoy your time here.

I used cuscadi.de a number of times (i'm in the EU), but i think they ship worldwide.
They made panels for my GB2, Sage 1, Manix 2, Military, PM2, P3.

I'm in the USA and have used Cuscadi multiple times with great success as well.

Both these knives are linerless. It's much simpler to make scales for knives that have liners, which is why that's mainly what you see in the aftermarket.

For these knives you're basically asking for someone to re-engineer the handles in entirety, which is entirely doable and also quite a time sink. I suggest you get the G-10 versions of both those knives and look for aftermarket scales for the G-10 versions (which have liners).

I've made my own scales for my G-10 Manix, it was fairly straight forward.

I recently used this seller on ebay (in the EU) for a set of custom scales for the new-to-me WATU. VERY happy with his work. I will post some pics of the scales he made for me later this evening.

Have several scale sets from Matt of https://www.matchandersoncustomworks.com/

He does great work, and will accommodate almost any mix of materials. In my experience micarta with wood enlays are the look/feel I prefer.

For all those who chimed in with some advice, I greatly appreciate every one of you. I have been on my share of forums and I find this to be very active and helpful.
To sn0man72, thanks for the Match Anderson refferal, he is just what I am looking for.
Thanks

I personally have found noone better than Suingab. Fit and finish 10/10 and prices are very reasonable.
